To be honest:

If you're even vaguely female you don't need to put any pictures up or write a profile - you will still get 100s of messages per day.

If you're male, you can craft a long personal message, or write a naff one liner, chances are it will still be deleted, unread.

But come on guys, we must still rise to the challenge - and just every so often the extra effort pays off!

If you're even vaguely female you don't need to put any pictures up or write a profile - you will still get 100s of messages per day.

If you're male, you can craft a long personal message, or write a naff one liner, chances are it will still be deleted, unread.

But come on guys, we must still rise to the challenge - and just every so often the extra effort pays off!

Now OP I don't condone such messages but if its getting to you to the point you feel the need to vent about such messages in a forum post .

Then if I was you I'd take matters into my own hands by putting my filters fully up .

At that point I'd then go on the offensive by becoming proactive and approach only guys who you think may be a fit for your needs .

That way you mail box will not be cluttered wth such silly messages and you will be responsible for the kind of messages you get as they will be replies to enquiries you have made .

Just remember taking this approach means no ego boost for you and you run the risk of maybe a guy deciding to lampoon one of your messages in a form post of his own .

It does have some influence though. As a result of the actions of few men, some women / couples have blocked single men - making it difficult for the decent and genuine guys to approach / contact those women or couples.

...just wanted to add we don't get many msgs like that from singles maybe 1/2 a day if that ...most the msgs we receive are quite respectful...maybe we are in the minority ....and we haven't blocked singles as we would meet them if they spiked an interest of some sort

I would just do the sensible thing and check out their profile. At least that way you could decide if they were what you were looking for, rather than judge them on the first message. I certainly wouldn't ridicule them in a forum to amuse others!!

With the number of Muppets that message us, there is enough of cast to produce a new movie.

I will often, just for fun, answer one or two. Fortunately, I am fluent in sarcasm. Getting an unexpected response from Mr J and not Mrs J usually puts them off from ever trying again - if they do they are blocked and miss out on the movie deal.
