Maybe they use block as a tool, if they are not interested for any reason they may block then there is no confusion at all.

Plus a polite message that isn't responded to becomes an abusive second message my many guys on here.

Is really difficult to reply to every message and then have to block the ones that don't appeal to stop the endless questions of 'why?' or the abuse. I used to, but it's time consuming. Before anyone mentions FILTERS, I have filters, they're strict, they don't stop the numbers of messages I get!

I'm sorry that is rude, I really am, but it's the only way I can deal with the interest effectively for me.

I use block for filtering. Had one young chap come back to me saying he had left the site because of the block. Came back on to the site with a different profile specifically to find out why I had blocked him. Quite desperate and abusive.. Guess what I did? If you can't take rejection you shouldn't be on the site.

if somebody says no I will always back off, if theres no interest I can handle that but i'd rather be told in words, a blocking for sending a polite message just seems plain rude to me, I can't understand rudeness in that respect at all

I had to block someone last night.

They sent a message, I replied saying I wasn't interested.

They asked why so I told them I wasn't attracted to them, that attraction was subjective and that just because I wasn't wouldn't mean someone else won't be.

Again, they messaged wanting to be friends and basically trying to make me feel guilty so I told them to take a not interested as a final answer and blocked them.

They weren't rude or abusive but just pushy.

Being nice on here can sometimes be very frustrating.

I know its madness when you look at it in the cold light of day but hay that's how the swinging world has evolved a block is a no thanks just except and move on .

The swinging world is full of strangeness and nothing like the normal world.

guys act and approach people like they never would when approaching someone in a bar but couples and single woman act in a equally strange way they never would in a bar or anywhere but online .

Us: thanks for the message but we're not meeting guys/find there's no attraction.

Him: why not?

Us: because we just don't find you attractive

Him: but why not?

Us: we won't be meeting you. Have fun, good luck

Him: wanna meet?

And round and round it goes.

Instead, if we don't fancy the person, we're not gonna waste more time explaining why or continuing a fruitless conversation. Blocking is the answer. Put ya big boy pants on and man up.

I used to feel a bit rejected when I realised someone had blocked me but now I find it so useful both ways..saves wasting time on people who are not looking for your type and vice versa. ..Could be lots of reasons why they blocked you and it's really not worth analysing..mind you it can be done accidentally if yr thumbs clumsy!

possible, i'm not gonna dwell on it just the initial block really just made me think what the hell did I say wrong, I wasn't rude in the slightest I was just my normal polite self asking if she wanted to chat and see where it leads

No its is not. If I'm not interested, I block. They know I'm not interested but can't whine at me for it, and they can't message again next week when they've forgotten they've messaged. I'm not going to reply to every fAf message, or 1 with a dick pic attached, I'll reply to say no thanks to a polite message, but then block to stop the pointless replys. Nothing rude about it, no reply=no thankyou. This is in site FAQ'S, blocking is a tool of the site.

It can take a while to adjust to the different manners-set of Fab, but there are practical reasons for it that have been spelled out at length throughout the thread,...but it still smarts when it happens to you the first few times.

Just blocked a guy for sending a friend invite.

To him it might seem rude but if he had bothered to actually READ our profile he would have seen the bit about us blocking uninvited invites.

He was hundreds of miles away. Had no verifications. No photos. Virtually no info on his profile nor did he bother with anything as polite as writing any little message to accompany the invite.

Our point is this. I am sure this guy felt his invite was a totally inoffensive approach.

Our _iew is it is yet another guy who clearly didn't bother to read our profile and simply wanted the opportunity to wank over our private photos.

It is a matter of perspective. You might think your behaviour doesn't warrant a block but they clearly feel differently.

It's stops you messaging again. You may take a no thankyou or a no reply, and leave it at that, good for you, but many don't. They message again to say why not? Or give abuse, or even to say thank you, which is actually kind of irritating, or pm again in a week as they've forgotten they've messaged already. "
admittedly I have sent thank you's and forgotten about previous messages, but the thank yous are usually just a courtesy to show respect.

Don't you think when you receive the buttons should works like this.

1 Delete - it sends an auto reply "not interested, you don't pop my cork!' It also blocks the sender. Stopping further stress both ends.

2 Mark as unread - this leaves it open for the sender to keep messaging.

3 Reply - you get to type your own message to the sender eg "not interested, you don't pop my cork!'

Or just you can just ignore and not read the message in the first place. this initiates a number 2 sequence of events.

That is why we use the block button, saves messaging again, any couple guy woman says we aren't for them they go straight on the block list, not because we are pissed off after all it is a selection not a rejection, but simply stops us coming across their profile and messaging again in 6 months time

I block people who have said no to me for the same reason above. It does stop bumping into each other again.

I've also replied and said 'thanks for acknowledging me' I thought I was using manners and being polite. I never knew I was irritating somebody. I must remember to do it more now.

If they were polite enough to read, and reply to say no. Why on earth would they be offended if I sent a polite note back?

For whatever reason, they decided you weren't for them.

Lots of people delete and block it's common practise on here.

It's something you have to get used to and learn not to take personally.

Happens to pretty much, most people on here. Know it does to us.

But imagine you have 50 messages you reply a thanks no thanks to 45 of them and they all reply thanking you for replying, that's another 45 pointless messages so it can be annoying

I was talking to a couple that only joined 2days ago they claimed they met a guy first day being on here then he left the site and didn't verify them. The couple are not even photo verified we was talking all day arranged a meet swapped face pics then today I find out I'm blocked. I knew something wasn't right because they sounded like the just wanted me to verify them

I sometimes block before contact because I have not interest in meeting them - saves wasting both our time.

I block if they message me a crap message/ignore my profile text/have crap profiles, because I have no interest in them - saves wasting both our time.

I didn't use to do this and I'd get repeated crap messages from the same guys clogging up my inbox and pushing the genuine messages from other guys out.

Or I'd reply "Thank you for your interest, but no thanks" and end up with whiney message after whiney message, or abuse, or they'd message me a couple of months later hoping I'd not see on their profile that we'd spoken before or hoping I hadn't written a private note about them.

When you get quite a few guys doing this it can get VERY tiring, boring and draining, taking all the fun out of coming onto Fab. Your one polite message could be one of 10s even 100s, and not everyone has the time or energy to reply and risk the potential draining conversation to come after replying "No thanks".

So we use the tool given to us, that is even spoken about in the site's FAQ as being a "No thank you" reply, as a way of saving wasting everyone's time on a potential conversation that won't result in anything but maybe (sometimes definitely) a load of hassle for the recipient.

You aren't going to interest everyone and the quickest and easiest way for everyone to get this across to you and move on is to block you. It's not rude at all, it's just them saying "No thank you".

Concentrate on your inbox..when you send any messages just delete them (unless you have added a pic) then if you get a reply its like a surprise ..instead of feeling gloomy looking at the unread or deleted posts you have sent..

Unfortunately saying thank you would be ok if u had about 4 or 5 messages.but hey I recently looked into a female friends profile and she had 1008 messages withing 2 weeks.u really think she can say thank you to all of them. We need to appreciate n understand how many messages females n couples receive. And personally if I am blocked then it's obvious they not for me and vice versa.i just move on.there are loads of people on the site. You would always get that one that would be for you. Simply move on if you are blocked.

But are you sure you sent only the one message only some people will keep sending me the same message over and over again, like hi how are you? so in the end i have to block them. Actualy its better to block people who you dont think you want to meet straight away so you both know where you stand, anyway it should work like that.

Mate, honestly - it's time to stop seeing blocking as rude or a bad thing.

Make a female friend on her, get her to show you her inbox (ooh err). A friend of mine did that - it's bloomin bonkers.

She's a sweet, kind, considerate person who works for a charity, cries when there's a poorly tortoise on some animal rescue programme and would see the good side in a serial killer. She uses the block button like a beast.

Her inbox is a like stepping into the darkest recesses of the human condition and is dream subject matter for psycho-analysts.

Anything which makes it a bit more bearable to manage is helpful.

I even block now, as I hate seeing that little "you messaged them 6 months ago" and trying to remember whether it was a failed attempt or a conversation about the price of fish.

I took it as a mortal blow to my fragile ego the first time I was blocked. Then I saw the light though. If I was a woman, there's no way I'd be copying and pasting "sorry your not my type" 25 times a day and I'd be blocking all the time. Call it Effective Communications Management.

Actually, if I was a woman I'd have run a mile from this site and become a nun.

I got blocked last night because I couldn't make a meet. The guy asked me like, half an hour before the meet was taking place and it was 11pm. I politely stated that I couldn't make that meet, so he blocked me for no reason. People are weird
