May be a stupid question but it is our first time in a hotel, has anyone ever been questioned by staff when attending a hotel with three parties rather then the two previously booked for

I wouldn't worry, most wouldn't batter an eyelid, especially in the bigger hotels

We recently stayed at a big hotel in Liverpool and thought the same, arranged a meet and just walked into the reception to the lift,

It's no different to inviting someone up to your room for a drink the staff don't care, they might give each other a knowing look but most won't even notice

I now won't give guys my room number before I have.met them in the bar. Fb and I did just that and we opened the door to some creepy guy nothing like his photo! It was very awkward having to tell the guy we weren't interested as he was nothing like his PIC and he stood in the corridor getting stroppy before leaving. But hotel fun for three or more is usually never noticed amongst staff

You've paid for the room, the hotel staff couldn't give two hoots what goes on inside of it. Provided it's all legal of course.

Just look confident as you walk in, like you are supposed to be there...

If it's necessary to provide a registration number for parking then your guest will need to know your name and room number. You might get a call from reception too so try not to be otherwise occupied

Only issue is some hotels need a key to use the lift. In that case get two keys, meet in bar and then two of you can use one key and the other can follow with the other key. No one really notices but we worried about this in the early stages too so your concerns are common.

This. I found it quite exciting walking up to a room with a couple! Concentrate on your company..not what the staff are doing..dead giveaway.

No we've ended up wth 4 or 5 in a room, no one batted an eyelid. In some hotels near clubs, one whole hotel floor can be full of swingers.

Did get hassle once returning to a bournemouth hotel with a guest.

I think the doorman was just bored maybe, it was about 11pm and he blathered on about guests not after a certain time, but hey ho.

otherwise never a problem. though we do tend to use mainly the bigger hotels rather than small family run places.

just act totally normal and people rarely question you.

We met a guy in the pub next door to our hotel. After we had a chat and a drink I went up to the room to get ready then my husband and him followed 15 minutes later no questions asked. I think it depends what type of hotel it is x

So long as you're not in a group larger than your booking when you're checking in then you won't have any problems. After that the staff won't usually remember how many are booked into your room just by looking at you. Plus they may think you're walking in with other guests of the hotel.

Just brass it out and if you get challenged over having too many people sleeping in your room, confidently respond with 'oh they won't be sleeping
