Is it normal practice to ignore a message introducing yourselves with face pics and have it completely ignored?

It's happened to us twice with weekend message sent, polite introduction about yourselves with face pics after a couple of previous messages exchanging niceties so you think yes they seem interested, the message is read you wait for a reply and wait and wait and wait, during this time your profile is viewd by them a few more times and nothing.

Personally we think it's rude we always reply even if it's a polite no, is it to much to ask the same?

What's the norm in your experience?

As a single bloke, yes this is the norm.

I do get some replies, but very rarely.

Even been winked at, they've sent the 1st message, I've replied with a face picture, and was then ignored and blocked!

A no reply is easier than sending a no thanks. Sadly saying no can often lead to anger from the other party and it gets nasty sometimes.

Don't sweat it as it happens to everyone. Move on and forget.

It's not rude at all, it probably means they are not interested. Replying opens a dialogue and can lead to abusive replies or trying to persuade to meet or asking why person doesn't want to meet. If I reply not interested, I block straight afterwards, saves wasting everyone's time. X

It is the norm. Been here for 9 weeks. Sent messages and always add a face pic. So far 100% of the women ive messaged have just deleted the message no reply or anything and id say 50% of those have blocked me. Hmmmm is my profile that bad ? Am i that ugly ? Getting bored trying now tbh

I ignore most messages from people I'm not interested in. When I message people first, if they're not interested I'd rather they just delete or ignore it than receive wave after wave of "no thanks, not my type" in my inbox. I don't particularly care if other people think it's rude.

Happens to 99% of the messages I send, regardless of the face pics I attach or time I spend on my message. It means they're not interested, forget about it and move on. I've found meets are more likely to happen when someone else initiates the contact with me... not that this happens often!

Its totally normal behaviour on here. Im used to it, in fact, I rarely send any msgs now. Not worth the energy.

I started off by replying to everyone. But it then opens up a 'why aren't I your type?' Conversation and that gets on my nerves. It also means the person/couple don't get a 'you have messaged Kiannaj before and not had a reply' notification if they message again.

Blocking is just another way of filtering. Don't be offended, it's not rude, just the way the site works

This . I used to try and reply to every message but apart from that being impractical and time-consuming, most of the time I politely decline I get rude and nasty abusive messages back

So exactly what do find rude ?

If they message back saying you're not our type , or no thanks then how do you feel ?

Would you ask why they didn't want to go further ?

Yes, it means they aren't interested, it even states this in the site FAQs.

Doesn't mean they find you visually unattractive, could be that one of your interests is a turn off to them, you are too far etc etc.

So basically, get used to it, grow a tougher skin or FAB will be hard work and no fun if you don't.

For me it's just practical. Sometimes I like to put all my filters on so I don't get any messages, and just message people myself. Anyone I've ever replied to can get around that filter. I'd probably reply a lot more frequently if it reset itself each time you reapplied the filter but it doesn't.

totally agreed firstly I would say no thankyou,but then they want me to explain myself! Now I just ignore if isn't what I am looking for.Abusive messages are ignored the same way! O don't care!

That is one of the reasons I have found myself replying less and less, after I send back a no thanks they can bypass my filters in future. A button on their message/profile to filter them out again would be very very useful.

No we wouldn't want an explanation if we aren't their type then fair enough we have turned couples down for the same reason, just think it's common curtesy to say thanks but no thanks so at least you know is not going any further.

It is common courtesy, but Fab is such that things operate a little differently to 'real' life.

And, as others have said, no reply is the polite way to say no thanks on here. FAQs are at the bottom of the page

picture or not you might not be what people want - we rarely send face pics first message unless we can see the same already but state in our message we have them to share if needed
