Saunas

So recently I've got back into going to the gym properly - work and study load is balancing out and I want to take care of myself properly.

Thing is since going away on holiday I've come to enjoy a sauna after a good work out/just generally enjoy them and find them good for my skin.

Only issue is the gyms local to me seem to have got rid of the saunas in their complexes which would have been ideal. A lot of the advertised saunas local to me seem to be advertised for the gay community - is it considered rude to use those facilities if you are straight? I know that's a stupid question but I just don't want to be 'that guy'. You know.

No-one will consider it rude op - you get straight guys in gay saunas all the time.

You should go and report back.

There is a sauna in these places but if you are not into men then don't go it is purely for gay and bisexual men who find men of same sex appealing or not depending on who is thier so if not curious do not do not do not go and rember if your not bi curious DO NOT GO

Go to it anyway. Then you could act like a woman on Fab and reject everybody.

If you go, you may get attention and advances from guys who like what they see (you haven't got any pics up so I can't comment on that). Most will accept a polite no (There as with everything be some that will be more persistent and pester)

Just go to the gay sauna op, I'm sure it's likely you will get a good work out and the sauna whilst you're there

No one will ask if your gay as you go in but don't complain if you get chatted up whilst there

Seriously though, gay saunas are hookup places, most contain one small sauna and the rest of the place are play areas. It's not like the gym sauna; no gym I've ever been to has a bondage area or a darkrooom.

Well, actually, there is one in London that does, but I digress.

I mean, if you can overlook the guy staring at you while getting head in the corner, by all means go for it. I guess that's not really what your looking for.

My knowledge of Leeds studentville is a bit old now, but the Virgin Gym in Kirkstall isn't far, and that had a sauna area next to the pool.

Thanks for the helpful advice. Might have a more thorough look about around Leeds. I'd rather not go somewhere which is meant to be a dedicated social place for the bi and gay community.

Any one around the Leeds/York/Bradford area know of any good, non-specialised saunas, or a gym with one??

I know there are the Turkish Bath houses up in Harrogate but that's a bit too up market and hard to get to for a weekend or mid-week session.
