Having an Asian wife as a mixed Couple.

Has any other member on fabs got a Thai/ filipina wife, or any other South Asian partner, Just wondering if it's only me/us, Or am i too protective of my wife, when we go out we get a few stupid comments, Comments like Have you bought her off the internet, Love you long time, How much for long time, and a few other stupid comments sometimes this leads to a smack in the offending person's mouth, why do some people think Asian women are all ex prostitutes, We put it down to Ignorance, would like to know anybody's thought on this subject.

Unfortunately its the preception from Hollywood films and documentaries. I have friends who have meet married Thai etc and it was just like here. Wondering around in a bar on a plane on a beach one was in a@e so take heart those with open minds and intelligence with not judge.

I must admit although I don't make dumb comments like I love you long-time, i do tend to think that old guys with east Asians or ugly guys with pretty ones have probably used money to make the connection. I know this is possibly wrong certain times but as long as you defend / cherish her as you would any other woman, you can take comfort in knowing that your gains are consequent of your aura and nothing else.

Stereotypical assumptions are just racism in another form!

M half here. I once had a Chinese Asian gf much younger than me. American passport holder, fluent in multiple languages, chartered accountant by profession and played in a national symphony orchestra.

Yet as a couple we had all the small minded and predictable comments said within hearing and sometimes directly, once even in a swingers club where we would have thought people to be more open minded!

I know very much where the OP is coming from on this topic so well done for being protective and being 'you'

This is a huge common problems of uneducated prejudice.

I've lived out in HK for five years a while back, and met many different nationalities whilst out there. Yes, swinging isn't as popular as it is here, but the circle of friends I made were very interesting.

Whilst I've been in clubs in the UK, I've met mixed couples on occasion where the wife is from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, HK, Philippines and a couple of couples from Japan. The nasty side of the club typically make some snide comment that the hubby simply has "mail ordered" his wife! Completely unnecessary and very basic.

Oriental/ Asian ladies are more reserved than European ladies, but such silly and unnecessary comments just demonstrate the envy of others.

Shame really, as a couple I met a while back where the wife was from Taiwan, met me a few times and were physical, I managed to tear my intercostal muscles resulting in two weeks on the club! Needless to say I was quite vague at the doctor's surgery.

Joking aside, this is a touchy subject for most on here as we all have different impression of what it really means, ie the underlying thread of this topic could lead you to different conclusions

Yes, I did take a while to reply, but I wasn't aware that the thread was going.

I was at a club last month, and low and behold a Caucasian chap turned up with his stunning slim Chinese wife. They weren't really playing much, and having been followed about, they just mingled in the social area.

I overheard a few folks at the club make the usual mail order comments, which was really unnecessary in my mind. Folks don't play at clubs because they feel obliged, rather they need to feel safe, invited and comfortable.

The snide remarks did nothing for their comfort. I had a good natter in the communal area, just to be friendly etc.

Age and oriental women is a funny thing.

On my last day with work in HK, I asked a colleague if she was going past Causeway bay on HK island, could I blag a lift as I had to pay my tax bill before leaving the country.

I was at the staff carpark expecting a 4 seat Toyota type car to turn up.... And then this young lady pulls up in a new Porsche 911 RS !

During the lift, she then said she'd been in the company for 20+ years (so she's wasn't 30 as I'd guessed) and her favourite pastime on London trips was to go flat hunting for her portfolio!

Damn!

I go to Thailand and Philippines for holidays and always get narrow minded people commenting that I’m a sex tourist. I have met some really nice girls there who hold down jobs in department stores and restaurants. Yes I have been lucky in meeting up with some out or their work environments and they have proven to be worth their weight in gold.

I just treat the numpties that make smart comments with the contempt they deserve. Have never lowered myself to give them a slap but believe me I have considered it on occasions. I have good friends who are married to Thais and Filipinas both here and over there who were Bar Girls and they have turned out to be loving and respectful wives and mothers.

My advice would be to laugh it off as the assholes who make derogatory comment aren’t with your time and effort.

You always will get comments like that from un-educated cave dwellers.

My previous OC was Scottish, so we’re both his daughters and wife. His daughters however looked Japanese. They would have sliced an hater in half if they’d have come out with a stupid comment.

Yes there's a lot of ignorance. Unfortunately, the snowflakes who get offended by even the slighest hint of prejudice against black or muslim people, are very racially selective about who they take offence on behalf of. Racism against asians has never been seen as badly for... reasons.

I got chatting to him one day, it cropped up that they both met at a hotrl that they worked at. The got on well, got married and a family.

Not every oriental wife is mail order. Sadly every ignorant half pint wonder will think that though.

We always hate most in other people, what we see in ourselves. The fact of the matter is that the majority of white-white marriages have a financial element to them, it's just way too taboo to discuss openly. Financial problems are a leading cause of divorce and being unemployed is toxic for a man's sexual appeal.

I’ve lived in Hong Kong , Taiwan , Korea , Thailand, and Japan... I have visited Saipan , Fiji , Bora Bora , Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma , and Loas.....

Let’s just say when you see a white man with a native woman.... true love is not what springs to mind...

I’m not saying it does not exist..... I just didn’t see it with my own eyes....

Also the term mail order bride gets banded around for men that marry Latin and Eastern European women also....

I think you should know that you could tell more about the couple by how their met or her lifestyle, than just their race. If they said they met in a bar I Bangkok then maybe it wasn't love at first sight. When she's better educated than half the women in Britain, one should refrain from making such assumptions.

I think you should know that you could tell more about the couple by how their met or her lifestyle, than just their race. If they said they met in a bar I Bangkok then maybe it wasn't love at first sight. When she's better educated than half the women in Britain, one should refrain from making such assumptions. "

Yes very true..... I didn’t talk to many couples because people don’t really open up to strangers.....

But I did see lots of Australian, Germans , Brits , and American men running around with beautiful women....

I’m a black male with a Chinese wife, if you thought being white with an Asian wife was bad try being black with an Asian wife, the struggle is real, in the UK not too bad but when we are on holiday in Mediterranean countries like Greece or Cyprus l, I’ve never been stared at so much in my life, it’s so uncomfortable at times, especially a lady asking fis she could take a pic of my kids whilst we were shopping, the audacity ??

So sorry you’ve had that experience! Can’t understand ignorant people who spread hate and disguise it as a joke! I’ve got a really mixed background family and grew up seeing and hearing some pretty horrible stuff.

Thankfully those people seem to be very much in the minority these days.
