Thinking of getting some ink done....whats the ladies thoughts as im a bit on the slim side yey or neh?

Personally I love tats, so if you want to get one just go for it. You don't have to have big muscles to look good with ink I think you look pretty good as you are

Placement is always key to how sexy it will look. Ie sleeves, chest pieces and back pieces

Tattoo's have become far more socially acceptable nowadays.

But the only thing I'd ever ask advice on, was who is a great artist!

I wouldn't ask should I get one or what should I get.

Have what you like, where you like. It's you who will be wearing it for the rest of your life. It's worth considering the location if you are planning to bulk up, purely so you don't distort the picture.x

Doesn't matter whether you are slim or have muscles, it's about how good the art work is. A good artist will help you with designs and placement. But be sure that a tattoo is for you and not just a phase your going through. X

I only regret how popular it became but not mine, which goes from ankle to hip.

it will hurt more if you put muscle on first.

but also adding muscle after it could go out of shape or need bits filling in.

Slimmer guys just look great in general. You'd look hot with ink or without. You'd suit it pet just make sure it's something you love, that means something to you and you won't regret it.

The opinions of others matter not my friend. Take me for example. I'm a very slim fellow with two sleeves, a chest piece and more. At risk of sounding egotistical, I've found my artwork has got me into quite a few beds.

If a lady doesn't like your body she wont like it after tattoos either. Think long and hard before getting any work done and enjoy it! I LOVE all of my tattoos.

I'm a massive fan of great ink on men...as long as it's not tribal! Looks so dated in my opinion. Do love a sleeve and I have one myself. Loving sailor jerry style but that will probably be the new tribal in years to come.

My sleeve is made up of scenes or characters from my favourite movies. So I currently have 12 pieces from various movies, with around 4 more to go, then the background will be filled in to make it a full sleeve.

So yes, mine is different to most, no I'm not been taken for a ride, and it definitely isn't tribal.

your dreams

If it's a good tattoo then your stature shouldn't really have much bearing on whether you'd look good or not, the Quality of tattoos has vastly improved in the last few years, I waited 10 years before I had my sleeve, because they just didn't do outline free tattoos then, and it took at least six months to find the tattooist skilled enough to do it freehand.

The most important thing is to find a good artist, discuss the design you want and make sure he is talented enough to do that, otherwise you'll just end up with a crappy one you will probably want to cover over in a few years, I have several I want fixing..

I love tattooed men though so I'm biased.

I've had over 50 hours on my entire body... I sit for 8 hours at a time and toward the 6 hour mark my skin usually begins to reject too. How could she possibly have 12 individual characters taking 46 hours and not even have a half sleeve?

I could install a fucking heating system from scratch in less than that.

I have a VERY detailed colourful, no gap sleeve which took around 25 hours max.

Personally I think time is an important indicator of skill. I hope I haven't offended anyone but 46 hours for half a sleeve is not quick enough for me.

She is called RedAngel. She will answer any questions. But not when you speak in such a derogatory manner.

My tattoo artist is very skilled. My pieces are very detailed. Not random cartoon characters.

One of my pieces was completed at the York Tattoo Convention and won an award.

If you're thinking about it then you're in two minds about it.

Only have it done for you, pick a good artist even if you have to wait for 6 months & only if it's a definite.

Too many people have the usual fashion statement then regret it as its not 'in' anymore!!!

I'd have a good think about it were I you, OP.

I think if you get tattoos purely to look good to others, you may well end up regretting them.

Tattoos end up saying something about the person who chooses to get them, whether they intend it or not.

I don't think the OP is looking to get inked to impress anyone. It sounds more like he just wanted advice about whether he should bulk up before getting one.

A good artist will be able to design a tattoo that works with the contours and angles of your body shape.

I think the very fact that he is asking about his physique before getting tatts suggests that he is getting them to achieve a particular "look".... Tattoos will be there as long as you live...

That said, I did realise just after having my chest done that I could never get too fat because my chest tatt would look awful on moobs....

As people have said take your time finding the right artist. When your getting a tattoo you really do get what you pay for.

A rule of thumb, is the longer the waiting list the better the tattooist.

If you can walk-in and get done the same day, walk away.

I got Chest, larger back piece (4 x 7hr sessions), both shoulders. Will be getting more done.

Excellent advice

My first tattoo at 18 was a walk in for £60.....and I'm planning on having it re done.

The artist who's done my sleeve and is who will be doing the second one is £100 per hour....the difference is the work is blinding obvious.
