"Or is it just us that think there is a difference ? Makes searching a bit clunky ..." I think we all agree. Making a change like that, however, would have implications. Everyone with the current classification would have to pick a new one. Everyone with a saved search including that classification would have to redefine their search.

"Or is it just us that think there is a difference ? Makes searching a bit clunky ... What is the difference? Quite a lot. Like?" A transvestite identifies with being turned on by cross-dressing. A transexual believes they were born in a different gender body and may or may not have taken action to change their gender.

I see. So,if they have not taken such action,is there a real practical difference? I suppose there is from their own perspective but from a 'searching for meetings on fab' point of view, there would seem to be less of a difference. (assuming of course, that TS,in this context, means prior to any physical alterations having been carried out).

Considering that TS' have often undergone transition surgery or have taken the necessary hormones to help them transition, it really does just make sense to separate TVs and TSs. No idea why they're grouped together as they are on here. They're not elsewhere.

And a TS may be in the process of or have completed a physical transition.

Good point.Would it not make a lot of sense, then, for a person who has undergone such procedures to choose a category other than TV/TS? There does seem to be an implication that the 'TS' part of the category is referring to those who have not.In those cases, physically, there would seem to be no difference. What I'm getting at really is,,if there were two categories 'TV' and 'TS',,,what differences would one expect to find in those categories?

Problem would be the profile holder may identify differently than that which the searcher perceives them to be x what all this boils down to is physical attraction x a smoking hot tv or a ropey ts that's undergone treatment x don't think there's a solution other than the searcher making an assessment themselves as to whether they like what they see or not x

Someone may look in the TS section hoping to find a smoking hot (post op)TS but instead find a person who the searcher considers to be a ropey TV. (an unfair assessment but that is how she may be perceived regardless of her personal sense of identity),a person searching may then cry 'what are all these TVs doing in the TS section?'. If someone really is searching for a trans person and is aware of the subtle nuances enough to know the difference between someone outwardly male and someone who identifies differently, then perhaps they should be directed elsewhere, maybe to one of those many other sites that specialise in trans.

I go out with my wife and friends regularly for nights out but now and then I go to tgirl events/parties. There are some amazing looking tv's and some trans girls who really don't look all that great. I like to think I do a fair job with my makeup and style. When people meet me in the flesh they tell me that's when you can really tell I'm not just a cross dresser. I was in male mode in a sauna recently and the guy I was kissing stopped me to ask if I was trans. Even without the disguise he knew.

"Whilst we acknowledge the difference between a tv and a ts, and accept you get good looking and not so good looking of either (just as you do with cis gendered folkes) the obvious solution to aid those looking for the hot ts model of their dreams, we should have 2 categories, "hot tv/ts" and "ropey tv/ts" And so the status quo is absolutely fine Unless if course we can have "hot guy" "ropy guys" etc etc This site is as inclusive as any regarding gender age size etc and that's a good thing imo lets not change that xx" Who decides who is hot and who is ropey, though? I don't think I'd like to volunteer for the job,,,,you'd need a hard hat.
