Why are some people on here ( and its mainly single men) stupid enough to send random friend requests without even talking first.

Its obvious you just want to look at friends only pictures.

There should be a lot more filters and restrictions on this site.

I can only say from my own experience, but I have never sent a friend request without getting to know someone first.

Conversely, I have received requests from ladies that I have not previously even had as much as a pic fab or wink from them, let alone a message!

If they aren't mailing you then the filters are working.

Just ignore them and don't delete the request, that way they can't send another.

I send friends requests without chatting first to people visit could be interested in meeting at some point.

Not so I can perv their pictures.

If anyone isn't happy with that, they don't have to accept the friends request.

The OP does NOT have single men blocked. If they had single men blocked, there would be a line on their profile (added by the site) saying "not looking for single men". The fact that M profiles aren't listed on their profile as 'looking for' just means that they haven't ticked M as a preference. The 'stop and think' warning is just that - stop and think. Not a complete ban.

It's the difference between filters and preferences. Their PREFERENCES aren't for single men, but single men aren't FILTERED OUT from sending messages/friends requests. Presumably because they are willing to consider exceptional single males, and this is a perfectly acceptable way to run a profile, in my opinion.

Ah I've always wondered how people got that not looking for single men, do you have to block them to get that?

Never seen not looking for single women or not looking for couples, does this not appear if you block women and couples?

Yes, to get the line "not looking for single men" on your profile, you have to have single men blocked. It only appears for single men (even though people can block women and couples, in just the same way).

I think of it as an easy way for the single men (who make up by far the majority of Fab-users) to avoid wasting their time reading the profiles of people who they then can't contact.

I'm at a point where I'll never send friend requests. I've seen it on too many profiles how that is portrayed as bugging, annoying, or being called a pest for it. I just wait for the other person to send one, if they don't then obviously they're not interested .
