This is for women and couples..

Just wanted to know why people don't reply to messages when they have read them..I know some people get loads evey day..but if you have read a message and the person is not your type surly a simple no thanks is fine..

Then at least you can move on..,,

Or am I being slow on the up take on how all this works..,

Yes you're being slow. The FAQ section states that no reply means no interest.

Site rules state that no reply is a polite no thanks. Honestly though if I send a no thanks I either get abuse or drawn into a conversation with someone I've no interest in explaining why I'm not interested. Delete your sent mail and don't waste your time worrying about it, enjoy other things on the site x

A few reasons.

If we take filters off and post meets for example, we get a load of messages.

If we replied to them all, usually around 50% reply back saying thanks for the reply. So this is adding to the inbox whilst we're trying to empty it.

The more we reply to, the more can now get round our filters once we set them. (Highly annoying)

Really getting all funny with you for saying no thanks is a bit silly...

I would prefer that as then you just say ok and move on..

you've put them off somehow, or taken to long to ask to meet, or was too soon asking to meet, or they found someone more interesting to talk to, or they lost your message in all the messages they get.

could be anything but they probably lost interest.

i wouldn't say you have to change because of this, just means you weren't as compatible as it was thought when they made the first reply.

Nah! When visible my profile isn't ambiguous, therefore allowing those who read it to exclude themselves. Adding belt to the braces I also state I'll not respond to anyone outwith what I'm looking for, and I don't!

If someone thinks what I'm looking for doesn't apply to them as they're "special" and it's rude to ignore them, I'm on a sex site after all, then that comes under the heading of "too bad!"

If someone has no interest in a message , why would they bother replying. It keeps things simple by following fan guidelines and assuming that no reply means no interest.

We do try and reply to most of our messages however for alot of men and sometimes couples, when replying to a message it is seen as a invite to play even when our reply is a simple thank you for a compliment.

Then you get the why nots etc

Message filters.

The main reason I don't answer with a no thanks is if I reply then they can mail me again after I re apply my filters and then I have to block to get rid of them.

I also see no point in replying to a message which just says hi.

Fortunately we only get 1 or 2 messages a day, so we do try to send 'rejection letters'. However i do feel uncomfortable thinking a 'nice' way to say not interested. Sometimes we get more messages than normal, if post pictures or a status, and then I think 'this is a hassle - why do we have to reply to all these messages we haven't asked for'. But we do try, because for some reason men would rather have a written rejection than to be ignored. There are some messages we don't reply to, but we are quite clear about this in our profile.

We are a couple and as such no replies happen unless we have both read the message.

Sometimes if people haven't read our profile or just direct the message to one person (without any previous contact) then why would we reply? However all messages are replied to, it just might take a little while.

If you reply saying "no thank you, good luck" then about 50% take it as an invitation to continue with the conversation saying "Why?", "I am really genuine", "I always turn up", etc etc.

I try to reply politely but often have to reach for the block button.

I use to have loads then use filter as reply then everytime I reply to others couldn't keep up to same people also because they got family life that comes first I use to have over 200 a day trust it was hard work keeping up and even when you reply was abusive back stating waited ages for reply and try have loads

ive ended up blocking people I would have possibly meant because ive read their message.. maybe replied a few times.. then had to leave one unread or read and reply later...

only to get 2 or more new messages either repeating what they asked... or getting arsey that i didnt take the time to reply.

unless someone has blantantly not read my profile.. is rude or abusive.. i do reply even if its a thanks but no thanks.
