Given some of the stories I've heard about "foreigners" being attacked since the referendum and attacks against ethnic minorities, trans- people, people who aren't straight and such I've seen or heard about over the years, I'm less than convinced not wanting to shag someone or even making them the butt of a joke is a hate crime.

There's a story about a Greek friend of DJ in the politics forum at the moment which really is about hate. That puts things into perspective for me.

Ginger "jokes" are the thin end of the wedge in my opinion, they make it acceptable to laugh at, exclude and insult another person because of a physical attribute its an easy step from that to thinking its ok to deride them in the street. Sexual preference for a type is another thing altogether.

Following the referendum I think the police have more than enough rather more serious hate crimes and attacks to keep them busy for the moment.

It seems to be _iewed as hilarious to make jokes about being ginger. Six year old ginger children coming home in tears wipes the smiles off a lot of faces.

There's a story about a Greek friend of DJ in the politics forum at the moment which really is about hate. That puts things into perspective for me.

I "might" have said it before, I find gingers very attractive.

As an aside, the mother of my child was/is a ginger and my little one was a lovely strawberry blonde.
