Was an interesting debate on R2 about a year back regarding seats up or down. Guy from the industry...some "expert" from the bog manufacturers clearly stated that domestic WCs were never intended to be stood at. Only ever sat on!

Seat shoud always be down (unless actually cleaning the bog) and the lid closed before you flush. Avoids all the microspray that gets everywhere...even in your toothbrushes above the sink or on window ledge etc.....

Perhaps a little sad, but I was pleased as our son left home for a multitude of reasons, including not finding the seat left up and pee all over the place anymore.

I've sat down to pee all my life.

Come on guys; it's nice to have chance to sit down so make the most of it
