1. Buy a proper razor that takes double-edged blades (or a cutthroat if you're feeling really confident).

2. Buy shaving foam (not gel) and a shaving brush. Wash your beard area, don't dry, then apply the foam with the shaving brush.

3. Shave...

I'm the fem

I never have a rash since i have shaved more frequently.

I use tesco mens shaving foam not gel.

I use wilkinsons sword mens triple blade razors, they are the same as the female version except a different colour and cheaper.

I wash using a hot flannel.

Shave first with the weeks razor and then also with a brand new one which i then use all week.

I then have a bath

Never have a problem.

Hot face wash first-don't dry

shaving oil then foam/gel/whatever

good razor- 3-5 blades usually have 3-you don't need all this ball moving crap-cutthroats are amazing but take a while to get used too! Only use mine for about 3 shaves -if it feels rough on first stroke, use new one.

Once done hot flannel to clean off and then cold flannel- this closes pores

After shave balm - nivea best

Then above all A Bloody good moisturiser - don't skimp on this - personal preference is loreal for men, trying new one for friend's make up business....it's good but very pricey!!

Oh and if you shave your head a second mirror attachwd to wall...i use one from a popular sweddish company but others are available
