The trouble with being polite

Having been members for years I must admit to feeling a bit jaded.

We get 70 plus messages a day. Mostly from guys who haven't bothered to read our profile.

I recall replying politely to every one at one point years ago but I have to admit having a low tolerance now.

I guess this is a public apology of a kind.

Why is it being a member of fab crushes my instinct to be normally polite!

I guess it's the internet keyboard warrior effect, where you get hammered by guys for not giving them what they want.

These pricks would likely be epic fails, outcast misfits, at swingers clubs.

It's fine to contextualize your behaviour and most of us have had to here.

The filters are there for a reason- set them so single guys can't contact you. If you want single guys, go and search for them yourself. The site gives you these tools - use them!

The trouble with filters is that they are a very blunt tool.

We don't have a problem with single guys as such so would greatly regret using filters to block them all.

If only there was some cunning algorithm for blocking the knobheads.

I guess however we have to put up with the bad as well as the good.

i've blocked anyone from messaging me lol, dunno why i'm on here really.

but yeah the internet tends to attract lazy people, all they have to do is sit on their arse and attempt to bother with people.

i need some effort and used to that before this past year and since i've been looking online for what i want.

Just REMEMBER to turn them OFF when you want the guy to reply. So many forget to do this, then wonder why they dont get responses.

Exactly how i feel today... was so close to deleting my profile or blocking single guys after abuse today... its draining sometimes

Hi everyone, couldn't help but read this post I am married myself (wife knows and even has a single profile of her own), but having a single profile on here is sometimes tough, it's just a shame that sometimes the bad ones give all us guys a bad name, surely all can't be tarred to the same brush sort of thing. I have spoken to so many friends on here who have this problem day in and day out which leads to people blocking all single guys which I think is sad because it is difficult for a nice guy with a single profile on here to get on the ladder or so to speak, not that I blame people for doing the blocking thing it's just a shame that's all

Why are you concerned about being polite....some people live and breathe this site.

At its basic level it's just a meeting app...I'm not here to make life long friends or chat white all day. I log on...see who ticks my boxes...see if they're if for meeting...if so..great if not..move on.

It's like the forums people take stuff to heart, I don't want to make pals with people on a forum I just want a decent educated debate.

Yeah but manners don't cost anything and even though some refer to it as a sex site, and feel like you do, doesn't mean that justifies some idiots being rude, disrespectful and giving out abuse to others and having a tantrum like a 2 year old when they can't get a hint that no thank you MEANS no thank you, not forgetting that people on this site are not here for everybody else, they are here for themselves. Bottom line is nobody deserves to be spoken to like a piece of garbage, 2 words some want to take in and practice more often.... Respect and Patience!!!

Whilst this site has its merits. I still prefer to go out and socialise, its far healthier.
