For someone living in Ireland but regularly working in the UK, will it have an impact on me working over there? Will i need to get some sort of visa or what will happen?

If ur in northern Ireland ur classed as being a UK citizen anyway so it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference (not sure how much of Ireland is still considered the uk)

I think the simple, but admittedly unhelpful answer is, no one knows.

What I want to know is, if we leave the EU, will we have more or less swingers?

Well there could possibly be less of the likes of me in the UK to swing if it makes it more difficult to travel as a result of you leaving the EU

"Well there could possibly be less of the likes of me in the UK to swing if it makes it more difficult to travel as a result of you leaving the EU"

In theory Brexit makes it harder for EU citizens to get into the UK. However, there is no way business in the UK or anyone else is going to be happy with that. So a deal would be done that means no real change. Also, as you know the border between Ireland and UK has never been enforced - one could always drive across the border with no customs or passport control. So, for you, whether UK is in EU or not, you can still swing ... now when you coming to Glasgow next?

If the uk were to leave Europe, would everyone have to go back to their place of origin ? All the Brits coming back here too.... it would be a world wide swapping session

If you are southern Irish and work in the uk, ie Northern Ireland it is highly likely that in exit that the two governments will come up with a specific agreement regarding trade and labour transfer.

"Sorry _iamondjoe i was just wondering as i was unsure about the whole thing.

Apologies for my initial flippancy.

Ok. As an Irish citizen and *if* (and it's a VERY big if) the UK votes to leave and *if* (an even bigger IF) the UK g'ment follows it through the UK will still be a member of the EFTA & EEA and will be able to live and work in the UK without a visa or work permit. Work permits would be applied for by the employer.

It's highly unlikely and if the worst does happen it shouldn't mean more faff than usual, just a different queue at the airport.

I know there are some pretty big IF’s in there, however it seems as though for the Leave campaign, immigration control is one of their central concerns. Therefore wouldn’t it be strange if we did vote to leave, that we would still allow people from the EEA to come here without a visa or work permit? It would seem as though the whole referendum was a waste of time, wouldn’t it?
