"You can't know their reasons so don't bother trying to second guess. Send and forget. Don't bother looking to see if they've read it. Concentrate your energy on positive things not the negatives. "

"Ok so I get that couples and women in particular get hundreds of messages and need to filter them out. What I never quite understand is when a message is read but not deleted but also not replied to either. Obviously people might want to take their time before deciding whether to reply but I've seen some messages left read and not deleted or replied for weeks even though the recipient had been online regularly. My question is what is the thinking behind this? Is it a test to see if I am genuinely interested and should message again or a test to see if I'm someone who will message again and again (I don't BTW)? Ta" My message folders are very neat and tidy, I delete after a while anything not ongoing, and delete previous iterations of the conversation as I go along. My wife leaves everything as is, after she's read it, she lets it fall down the list until it disappears off the end. As others have said the important part is whether you got a reply or not. The person receiving can't tell if you deleted the sent message from your outbox, so to avoid your own frustrations any introduction messages you send out you're best deleting straight away then any replies you get are a happy bonus and you don't have to sit fretting about what they've done with it

Bit obsessive/stalkerish behaviour no?

I wait til the guy goes offline so I don't get abuse or a passive aggressive follow up message.
