When i went for my first meet the first thing the lady said was "what are your expectations?" I told her I had none and would go with the flow. We got on fine and I have done the same with all other meets since. Avoid people who send you a script of what they want to happen unless that is what you want to do. They rarely live up to that.

Have a social first, if they are aware you are nervous that should remove pressure. Then if you get on, plan a play meet next time.

Nerves/butterflies are good! I love the buzz from meeting someone new!

(And if you are really lucky you find someone who gives you that buzz everytime you are planning to see them!)

Social meet with no pressure or expectation to play. I think the pressure to play is why many people back out at the last minute so go for a drink and a chat then go from there.

Find someone who you know isn't going to force the pace. Someone who is going to 'play the long game'.

People telling you to relax isn't going help. It's all about allowing yourself to be guided along the journey ...

Several years ago I met someone who was shy and nervous. Taking things slowly means we are still great friends years later. And she still gets nervous when we do photo shoots.

You can't help how you feel - it's all about winning little advances.

I,d be more worried about meeting 2 men late at night outdoors for a first meet never mind wondering if they liked me!

Just try a club - there is no pressure to do anything, you can simply chat or watch or go with the flow if you feel ready. You also get chance to see and speak to potential partners before agreeing to do anything with them.
