Often I get a reply from someone on here and they seem genuinely interested. I reply to them answering a question normally but never hear from them again. What is going on? i don't think that what I replied with is the issue.

Depends what the replies are, a hot young man messaged me this week and all I got was one and two word replies, I thought if he can't make the effort neither can I

They realised you're a banker.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Are they couples? Because one might like you, and the other might not.

I got exactly this, messaged a woman, she said she found me attractive etc and it was like pulling teeth getting any conversation from her, so I pulled the plug on it, either she's a boring bugger or she wasn't that into me, either way no point continuing.

OP it depends what you're saying really, hard to say where you're going wrong without any kind of example...but maybe have a look at what you put and imagine you'd received it along with about 50 other messages in the last hour. Is it worth taking the time to respond?

They were keen to start with and I do put some effort into replying.

Happens all the time. I normally find if I don't fit into their "box" of when they want they just don't reply.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

"Often I get a reply from someone on here and they seem genuinely interested. I reply to them answering a question normally ...."

If ALL you're doing in your second message is answering a question, this isn't a good thing. You need to say something more open-ended, to keep the conversation going. As you're writing your second message, ask yourself what reply you're hoping to get to that message.

I find that too many men treat Fab like a bad job interview, only answering the question, not volunteering any information ... basically waiting to be 'accepted' or 'rejected'. I fear that some of them are actually afraid to let their personality shine through, in case they inadvertently say something that is a turn-off. So they err on the side of saying nothing. But this gives the recipient no 'hook' to keep the conversation going, it's easier to just let the correspondence fade away.

Yep, had exactly this only last week. Contacted out of the blue by a local(ish) lady saying that she liked my profile and my pics "so thought it only polite I let you know". She also attached a pic of herself which I found sexy so I replied in a friendly way telling her so, answered her question and asked one to her... and then absolutely nothing.

I sent her another message the next day with a face pic hoping to start the ball rolling again but still nothing. I didn't want to be too forward or lewd and risk scaring her off but now I'm starting to think I should of been more direct and asked when she wanted to hook up.

Still, not the first time and perhaps not the last but everyday is a school day for single guys on Fab.

My Own Little World

If it seems like I am the one keeping the conversation going, asking the questions, changing the subject when topic dries up, then I will no longer bother after a couple of messages. If you seem like hard work in an email I am not prepared to take the risk in taking things further.

Well your definitely visually stimulating so it must be that your messages and they are not stimulating whoever you are talking to

Especially with guys we often just let the conversation drop if there's no flow to it. If it feels like getting blood out of a stone then why bother?

Believe me I do try hard but not too hard to appear pushy. I think a lot of females on here are just browsing with no real interest in actually meeting

That's funny because that's what a couple in a thread on here this evening have said about single men

I tend to feel a conversation flows or it doesn't. Nobody's fault if it doesn't, but to me it just means we don't click. But I do give up if it doesn't flow. Realise some people aren't good at the cyber chat, and are better in person, but we're no longer willing to risk meeting someone, where the chat has been luke warm.

That's probably true to a point, but not in the way you think. In a year and a half we've only met 6 men privately. With repeat meets and parties that we like to go to, that's more than enough to be getting on with. So yes, we are on the whole only browsing, with no real interest in meeting. But we are active swingers, who do meet new men from time to time, so nobody can say we are no using Fab as it is intended.

Reading

Just to add, females and couples do the same, part of my profile has taking photo's etc. If you look I am verified. So when asked about this , I give as much information to message from what they asked. Yet most times do not get a reply even though they have sent message first . If not interested why message in first place ?
