It's Saturday night!!!!! Most people out and about, plans made. It's always quiet on fab Friday and Saturday nights. Try about 5/6pm before people have gone out. Or about 2/3 am tomorrow morning, as people start getting home, I always get loads of messages then......

Totally agree. When we put a meet up it is at least a week before. We don't do drop of a hat meets and don't expect others to either. It is the effort that you put in as well as others.

Well I guess if anything we now have a definite answer.. All single men on the site in your area are not trying to arrange a meet at 9pm on a Saturday even though you admitted you had 4 contact you via winks or message.

But all couples now have a set up from which we could all learn something if we get 1 couple from each area of the country to repeat this experiment we could then have scientific evidence that 9pm on a Saturday evening is a no go for couples to look for a single guy.

And then change the times until we finally have every 1 hour period covered

One thing we have learned from our time on fab is that negativity will never get you anywhere .

To embark on an experiment at 9 pm on a Saturday night such as the op did , merely to show single guys have a life outside fab too , is undoubtably a naive idea .

I propose that for one hour every night(time to be agreed) all men should clear there diary of social events with friends and be on call ready to fly out to any couples that are experimenting as required

9pm on a Saturday probably isn't the best time. As most people have made plans, going to clubs or just doing vanilla things.

Why don't you try on a Wednesday / Thursday evening. Someone I worked with said on a fish dating website he used to get loads of dates because people wanted something on Thursday booked for Friday

I'm in the Midlands and didn't see the meet last night, but like most guys I'm not sat clicking refresh on the meet thing all evening either!

Usually I plan a meet from earlier in the day if I want one and if no decent offers go and do something else in the evening - last night involved some beers and a film for example!

An one hour window is no experiment in my view

I would've said put a meet up a couple of days before and I bet you'd have had lots of requests, although after this post showing it wasn't genuine I doubt if you would again!

Have to agree. While really trying to be fair to the OP, maybe they did have genuine intentions but labelling their meet as "an experiment" was probably not a good idea. Stating that it's results showed that single males don't try hard enough is only one way of looking at the results. Maybe they had other things on, maybe it was too short notice, God forbid they didn't want to meet the OP. It's far too easy to analyse the information and come up with only one reason why nobody was interested.

OP your post will be on the forum for another 100 or so responses. Maybe think about that next time before you come up with such a generalisation of single males.

Don't have a drink on a saturday night lads, you may be called upon, its this attitude that put me off couples, I am tentatively stepping back in, but if I get a couple meet and they are smashed, thats the end of couples for me.

Maybe us guys are making a stand? If all guys want on 'strike' for a few weeks where they didn't message or wink, some woman would have to try a lot harder; no more profile staying "will fill in later" or a list of do's to obey. And, a 'meet now' would just not be acceptable.

Of course it'll never happen because, like most things, fab works on market forces, supply and demand; females are in short supply and there's loads of men demanding them.

I've stopped messaging woman and, guess what, I'm no less successful (which means still no meets). But at least I feel in control and I wouldn't have responded to the OP's status - I'm not a performing seal.

Didn't think it would but winking and one poor message from a guy looking to meet seems a poor effort ..

Of course it'll never happen because, like most things, fab works on market forces, supply and demand; females are in short supply and there's loads of men demanding them.

I though I'll add my two cents as a single guy.

Firstly what is wrong with a wink? I use them to see if a couple is interested if they wink back great if not no lost to me.

Secondly it does get boring after a while writing a message to couples that either gets deleted or no reply (this isn't a rant btw) I get that I'm not their type I accept it and move on.

My standard message would be firstly talk about myself my age what I do what I'm looking for etc. I follow up with things that on their profile and follow up with some questions about what is on their profile, maybe ask them what they are looking for. I would end the message with the whole if I'm not your type good luck in the future etc.

What you get on fab is what you put in end of the day for those few good meets have made it worth all the bs and drama on here so I've got no complaints.

If you have got an attitude problem as what's being suggested on here it's no wonder you haven't got quality messages. Also using singles as an experiment isn't exactly a fair chance as they are some good single males out there. People may disagree with me on that from their own personal experience.
