i'm in a fair few in my area. it could just be that my area is active for meet ups though and your area isn't.

Seconded. The current site people are referring to has no personals facilities whatsoever and has deliberately maintained it's place as a community site with no dating element (which is fine but leaves a gaping vacuum in the UK). IC was marvellous.

Searching on here there's plenty of kinky people but as you can't search by a word in a profile you're limited to the interests. SM is the only one that helps and of course people who are into some other aspect of kink don't necessarily tick that. Spanking is little use because lets face it, practically every adult in Britain is into spanking to some degree :P

There's only two ways I've found and that's searching using the SM tag and then reading the profiles to see if any talk about your kink or searching every other detail you can that's relevant to your desired person (age, sex etc) and then reading every single profile that comes up and carefully identifyig the ones that talk about it in their profile or have revealing pics.

Best of luck. Outside here my best advice is socialising at munches and being involved in as many groups as possible on the site with no name and no dating/meeting facilities.

There was one in my area but it died off due to changes in Kik. It didn't help that KIK is utterly pants for starters and that there was also a limit of 50 members (which is insufficient to operate a chat group for a community of any kind). It's probably fine if you've got a small group of friends and acquaintanes to chat with but not so much for a 'public' group.

@OP - Would you join a hang gliding club and then ask if someone can teach you how to go diving? Both might be 'dangerous sports' and attract the same adrenaline junkies but the clubs were set up to cater for different pursuits whatever the crossover audience.

I am very much part of that crossover audience and have been for years. As a single and part of a couple both sites work well for me.

@_itchfield. The 'other' site does have personals groups, both by national and fetish interests. Its just set up in a way that slows down the trolls and spammers and that is not a bad thing surely?

You are right in saying the best way to meet is to go to munches/events, especially crossover events and get known for your kinks and interests. Someone there will share them!

Coventry has both local munches and Xtasia is not that far...

I agree that it's nice to have a site that's about the community not for meeting potential partners but IC was able to do both. Fab has some features useful for finding play partners who are kinky but is limited. It would definitely be nice if fab could offer more kink. I would sign up for fabkinksters in an instant

Forums like the groups you mention broadcast posts so they aren't ideal for meeting people plus they have to find that group first. They can help though so worth trying your local groups.

Wow its 5,972 in Cardiff. Would have thought Coventry would be kinkier what with the angel about to blow a rampant devil on the cathedral. I think it's just because we have a lot of people not in Cardiff proper who put down Cardiff because it's easier. Or maybe mostly kinky people like me emigrate to Wales.

The site I'm thinking of does allow Personal Ads in some groups and has a chat facility, you can search by events in certain areas or groups with interests you might like.
