Some people do seem to know immediately when people they meet are gay. Why this would be important to them in day to day dealings is a mystery to me but it takes all sorts

Does it work for Bi people? Or maybe only 50% of the time.

My friend who is gay doesn't believe in it. But he has no problem asking someone up front about their orientation.

Yes, Gaydar exists. It doesn't work one on one but it does in a small crowd - works by tracking eye movements. Gay folks who develop eye problems find themselves marginalised as they can't quickly identify gay folk and more to the point, others can't identify them.
