Who has had a STI?

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

As most people on here are scared of catching one, I'm trying to find some sort of statistics on the amount of people who have had one and whether it was easy to correct with medication...

So, I'm holding my hands up to having chlamydia, warts and herpes.... And still living... Hopefully others will come forward and not get judged!!

With respect , if you want an idea on stats best of using Google. I really cannot see swingers on a swinging site coming forward on this topic. Some would perceive it as site suicide.

I've had the above and believe it or not, i'm a figure of good heath... Recovered well!

I just get annoyed when people say it's Russian roulette but it's not as life threatening as they think... We are not in Africa or Thailand...

I knew a woman whose husband had an entire second family that she knew nothing about. He travelled a lot for work so she didn't put two and two together. She found out when she got herpes from him. Tore their marriage apart... 2 children... interesting what you can find out from an STI.

Thousands of people die from 'flu. No-one died from herpes last year and yet it carries a stigma.

Not meeting

My very 1st visit to the GUM was after finding my husband had cheated on me. Luckily I was clear. And I intend to stay that way.

I have 2 children who need me therefore I will not take any risk with my sexual health. Especially when my eldest will be 16 next year & off doing god only knows what - I can't be drilling into him the importance of condoms & not using them myself.

Although you can still catch some STIs such as genital warts when using condoms because the pubic area is not completely protected

I suspect (Mrs PK here) there are a lot more people here who have had an STI but are just scared to admit it. Such a stigma attached! We both play safe but are also aware that it means nothing as you are as likely to get an STI orally and how many people use protection for that. I find the swinging community in general are much more careful and get checked up too. We are both aware of the risks. And yes some years ago I have had an STI and nothing that a course of antibiotics couldn't sort out I see it as no different to getting a cold or a chest infection etc! It happens! Most STI's won't give you symptoms which is why it is important to have regular checks. Clearly warts and herpes will give you symptoms who can miss a wart or a coldsore, but as they can be seen you don't need a checkup to tell you to get it sorted it's kind of obvious! The most important thing I think is communication if you do notice something irregular and you get checked and have an STI then communicate it to all the people you have played with so they can get themselves checked.

As hubby had the snip many years ago and for health reasons I can't take the pill, we use condoms when swinging with others as it also protects against pregnancy. To be honest, I much prefer a face full of spunk than a condom in me.

Judging by most of the comments on here, it's showing that most have never had a STI...

So looks like I'm correct, swingers tend to make out the chances of catching an STI are higher than they actually are!!

Again i'll reiterate, even if you was to get a dose, they are easily treated...

Then why are you asking in the original post whether or not these infections are easily treated .

And if you have all three of the said mentioned infections why havnt you had them treated, and should you be looking to meet anyone before getting yourself cleared up .

It doesn't - and statistically 70 of all sexually active adults have it whether it's inactive or active - or whether they're 'shredders' (the many people who pass it on without showing symptoms themselves!) or not!

So pointless getting snobby about std's - most of us have one right now!

I tested positive for the HPV virus & from what I was told it isn't necessarily an STI, Once a woman is sexually active, this also can become active if a carrier. They are now vaccinating young girls of an age where they, (in therory), are not sexually active. My eldest had hers about a year ago.

When I was young and stupid I had lots of unprotected sex..never caught anything out of sheer luck. However, an ex who I was still sleeping with was also sleeping with others and I caught chlamydia from him was treated easily enough with antibiotics.

Genital warts and genial herpes can lie dormant for years and only when there is a flare up are they contagious or so I understand.

And how on earth do you see someone has an sti from a picture?! Most people don't have symptoms!

How many people as teenagers had coldsores on their mouths, I know I had a bout of them for about 18 months as a teen and none since! Yet I still see people my age now with coldsores on their mouths! I never look at them and think they must be dirty or not careful with themselves. The very fact if you had coldsores at some point on your mouth means you have the herpes virus in your system. Mine clearly has been dormant ever since others are not so lucky. In my head there is no difference, herpes on the mouth or down below, it's just a coldsore and can be treated . Same with warts, I see people with warts on their hands, I don't look and think Eugh!!

Of course no one wants to get infections, and we are all as careful as we can be, I guess my point is, it's not the end of the world if you do, just get yourself checked regularly

"I am sure there are plenty of people who are blocking everyone that answers on this post lol. BUT the thing is so many people have NEVER been tested and because they pos use a condom, they think they are safe from everything! A lady on here WE know thought that (played WITHOUT her husband knowing). We persuaded her to go get tested. She had chlamydia. So did her partner!

Took some explaining! lol"

Assuming she didn't feel the need to wear protection with her husband, it sounds like she caught it from him!

"Judging by most of the comments on here, it's showing that most have never had a STI...

So looks like I'm correct, swingers tend to make out the chances of catching an STI are higher than they actually are!!

Again i'll reiterate, even if you was to get a dose, they are easily treated..."

You're not factoring in how many of the above are actually being honest (not that I'm outright calling everyone a liar but you get my point)

Worst I've had is thrush (which though can be transferred sexually it isn't an STI) I only ever had it in my pregnancies the hormonal imbalance threw off my yeast levels and it would constantly flare up every few weeks

Depends a lot won't use conforms for oral, chlamydia can be caught and transferred orally as well as penetrative. She God down on the person that has it catches it then goes down on her hubby and bingo she's infected him

"I've never had one - but 've seen plenty of examples in clubs, and even in the photos posted on Fabs - but then again I'm professionally interested so know what to look for. Amazing that some people post photos unaware that they're displaying clear symptoms...."

I'm intrigued as to your professional interest.

I did once have a guy send me a meet message with a series of pics one of which was a Cock pic, around the base of his cock and ball sack there was the little cauliflower head looking growths to represent gential warts, I declined his offer to meet and advised him to go to his local Gum
