Popped in just to get tested be a good fabber make sure still infection free. Can I just say to the NHS if your going to employ foreign Drs and have them work in sexual health clinic that it does not fill me with confidence that he doesn't know what swinging is and asks with eyes as wide as saucers when you try to explain it to them what kind of enjoyment if you have a wife would you get out of that

That's why we use the clinics that visit the club's. A lot less explaining all the usual tests and even offer heb b vaccination. Top marks for the ones we have visited

Never had any judgemental stuff in Worcester....I've seen plenty of the staff over the years...some foreign . All brilliant!

The last time I went for a check up I got there early at 8.30 when they open thinking I could get in there quicker.

The place was full of teenagers like it always is, I waited nearly 4 hours to see someone.

older Asian man have no problem with that at all if good at job and he appeared to be a good doctor just can't understand putting someone who was judgemental or oblivious to swinging in a job running a sexual health clinic

I can't get to the gum clinic near me due to work and home commitments so I go to my gp and have one Dr who deals with all my swabs and bloods, she knows I'm a swinger and she talks to me like a friend - my first visit I was terrified of her judging me but now I can tell her anything. I book my app online and only time I need to phone is for results.

In essence & ultimately they do a test they give you the results, thumbs up or thumbs down and they treat you if it's thumbs down.

I'm not too sure what being foreign has got to do with anything. Foreign or non foreign or is it just worse when it's a foreigner

If you're symptoms free you can book an appointment at the south hants on a Saturday, no waiting, empty waiting room when we were there.

Friendly and non judgemental, in fact encouraging and wished more swingers would come.

Totally agree with above lady

In old days I played the innocent one .. now I tell them straight.. and the support and advise and free condoms is a bonus and it means you get the best service and tests .

The orsett hospital gum clinic in Essex have a lot of swingers and sex workers frequent and they are more fascinated and appreciative than judgemental .

Plus they never insist on your sexual history .. bonus

All I can say is--be grateful to live in a country that provides this service for free!

I go in a few times a year to be checked, and in the US where I'm from, I'd be looking at a good couple hundred pounds each visit.

I go to a great clinic near where I live, staff are mostly fabulous (only one negative interaction, he was an ass) and very supportive of all issues in my life, not only sex related.

I do agree with previous posters too, though....it's enough to simply say I want to get tested. Why go into details?

They class me as high risk anyway as I have a bi partner (although that's quite an old fashioned and not very accurate assessment in my opinion), and I need hep b vaccine for work so my status is checked regularly anyway. I know what to ask for without going into the details of what I'm up to

..handy as well if your friend works at the clinic and knows you have casual sex, always have safe sex, but oral always runs risks too...and not many have oral with protection!

Me and Mrs went to Stanhope Parade in South Shields recently. Both got the green light and the nurses are great, and had a good laugh with them.

The nurse told me to go to our room, I said that's a bit forward, we have just met! The other nurses were in hysterics. They didn't ask Mrs much, but asked me a few questions, but no big deal at all.

Just need to arrange a few meets to use the mountain of condoms they gave us now!!

I went to my doctor wanting to go through them rather than using GUM clinic. Was told flat that they wont do the tests and had to use the GUM clinic. Great that you doctor is happy and cooperative in your health and wellbeing.

Went to the one in Leeds very good non judgemental text the results, probably call if it isn't good news but I'm not sure it's all been good news for us so far.

We tell them too it does effect what tests they do

I explained to her about my home commitments and if I was to travel in to go to the gum clinic I'd need to take a day off work, find childcare and have someone come with me for the drive in as I'm not comfortable driving on my own in the back streets of town due to anxiety, she understood and I'm very lucky to have picked the right doctor

You can catch things thru oral sex and even kissing so it's best to get checked, some diseases can b relatively symptom free

People don't have to have unprotected sex, to want a 'peace of mind' check. I never have unprotected sex, but condoms can fail, condoms don't protect against all the nasties (they don't always protect against herpes for example), and I do have unprotected oral. So I go every 3 months for a 'peace of mind' check.

I go to the same GUM clinic each time. I started by pretending that I was 'unlucky in love' so had several different partners a year. But I got bored with pretending, and eventually told the doctor that I'm a swinger. He's a middle-aged Asian gentleman, and I never felt that he (or the nurses) were judging me in any way.

And the bonus is... lots of free condoms

As a nurse myself I would never judge anybody (not just because of my own choices) I would rather people look after their health, sexual and otherwise, than not come because they are worried about what the staff will think
