Double standards?

Nottingham

We were at a club recently and we saw behaviour by two women which, if the sexes has been reversed, would surely have had the men thrown out of the club as harassers...... If not actual assaults.

The women were d*unk but obviously regulars and well know members of the club. However their male "victim" was clearly uncomfortable with their attentions and coercion and did eventually pull up his trousers and move away, to jeers of "wimp" etc.

I found the behaviour unpleasant to watch but as it was our first time and they were regulars I said nothing but moved away from them.

I just think all the women around cheering them on and laughing would have very different reactions if it were two men bullying a lady into being spanked and having oral.... And calling her names if she refused...

Comments? Am I being over sensitive and was it just harmless fun the guy enjoyed? Or was I right to feel it out of order?

In full agreement here unfortunately.

Almost all bad behaviour we've witnessed in clubs come from women who don't know when to put the wine or vodka down.

If the Man was clearly uncomfortable with what they were doing he or someone else should of reported them to the staff

It seems in clubs women can behave how they want cos they are the "bate" for the men to part with their moneys to get in.

No matter where you go you'll get dickheads.

Everything we've seen has been dealt with very promptly by the club staff and no major dramas caused.

We find that kind of d*unken behaviour is not acceptable from anyone and they should have reported to the staff.

What's the betting the staff were applauding and (maybe) jeering?

I doubt any club would ban its regular female attendees.

The guy did express negativity towards their actions but I'm not sure he actually said a clear No. His body language was definitely saying no but they were too high to notice or care.

He was trying to save face by not making a fuss but he was pushing their hands away and trying to redo his trousers. He was smiling and being gentle with them.... But all the same.... Sigh.

this... We have seen it at numerous clubs... And even had a d*unk woman try to push me off my own partner as she wanted him.

Op id have reported it but it seems to happen everywhere

I've had unwanted attention at clubs (not jeering, mind), and its uncomfortable to say the least. The ladies in question should be treated the same as any sex pest.

I thankfully have never witnessed behaviour like this by males or females in clubs. However, I'm aware it can occur, and if I saw it I would definitely report it to the staff there. It's a real shame as it can totally ruin a night and is harrassment totally unacceptable behaviour by any person of any sex.

Well...this certainly has put me off to attending any club. I'm already shy enough as it so being harassed in a club definitely doesn't sound too welcoming

Please dont say that. I regularly attend clubs locally to you and they are great. I have never experienced or seen this happen at those.clubs

On another angle then... Would you report it if you weren't involved, it was your first time at the club and you wanted to continue going.... It's easy to get a negative reputation for trouble by reporting well known regulars I reckon.

Been to loads of clubs and not seen this anywhere else.

It hasn't put me off - it only happened the once, and to be fair, I've been groped up in normal nightclubs.

Yes, And if they didn't do anything about it or it give me a bad/negative reputation with the club or clubbers,

I wouldn't want to go to that club again

Vast amounts of alcohol and sex don't mix well some of the things I've seen in clubs have been embarrassing.

Some go to clubs just to socialise and get d*unk but then they inevitably get horny, that's when unwanted attention can happen.

I wouldn't put any blame on the club staff they are not bouncers and would hope people in attendance behave themselves.

I don't think it's double standards a d*unk is a pain no matter what gender or sexuality.

Been to lots of clubs and nearly always any bad behaviour has been with d*unken women. I do think who ever sees bad behaviour should report it to the management I always have and have never been dissapointed with their reaction

Completely unacceptable behaviour

I once witnessed a d*unk [woman] in a club who falsely accused a single man for 'touching her up' without her permission. Whether she was a liar too is something I can't comment on. I told the staff what really happened

Disgusting behaviour clearly the women have no self respect or respect of others in the club. Which club was it btw?

Not over sensitive, no, I think you are spot on.

It's 2016 and we are still far behind of any true gender equality with examples of bullying as the one you mention.

As women we ought to help other women behave better and we should also speak up when needed.

Gender sterotyping can be really nasty and should not go unchallenged when someone speaks, or behaves, in a way that limits other people's expression based on gender.

"Well...this certainly has put me off to attending any club. I'm already shy enough as it so being harassed in a club definitely doesn't sound too welcoming "

no offence... but if hearing about one incident in one club puts you off.... then you would never go out to any city centre drinking on any night.... you would never step into any pub, any nightclub.... because there are far worse incidents that happen there than happen any any club!!!

the good thing about most clubs is that they are fairly well self policing... and if someone see's something going on that isn't right it is normally stamped out....

but staff at clubs aren't mindreaders... and unless they are told, then nothing ever gets done..... and people tend think that it is acceptable!

I have never been to any nightclub myself, I've only ever attended one house party (3rd year student) and I very much did not like the atmosphere. I only drink alcohol around the people I know, just for social reason because I tend to open up a lot more. I also can't dance :D, but there is one event that I wanted to attend however I'm occupied so I might have to try another time.

Thank you for sharing, I always value your thoughts and opinion, helped me out in the past

A friend of ours used to be a doorman at a bar that would host monthly male strippers for ladies nights and hen do's. He said the number of times he's had to step in and rescue the male stripper from being mauled by the d*unk punters is crazy!

He's seen them leave covered in scratch marks as well as one who had to have stitches in his penis after two women started to fight over it and nearly rip it off

When we visit clubs we'll limit ourselves to one or two drinks and that's it. Being shitfaced is unattractive no matter what setting you're in.

Bloody hell, if that had been a role reversal the guys would have been kicked out for harassment.

I haven't attended many clubs but I have witnessed what I would call predatory pissed up women who go around in little groups.
