Bareback outside of swinging

Like a lot of guys on this site I don't get much attention...but in the outside world I do get asked on dates quite a bit which is flattering....maybe I come across better in person than on a website.

But in the last 2 months I haven't taken things further with 4 ladies because not 1 of them wanted me to use condoms....all the ladies were between 35 and 45....I find it a little worrying ...or am I just being to over cautious....would love some feedback on this.

In the 10 years before Mrs J and I got together we both played the field pretty extensively.

Not once in all that time did I ever come across a woman who suggested condoms.

This was across all walks of life including doctors, nurses, lawyers, lapdancers and stay at home moms.

Mrs J had a similar experience with guys

Neither of us got an Std in that whole period.

Not making any wild claims here. Just saying.

We now sleep with fewer strangers now that we are swinging than ever before.

From an article in a newspaper this week condom sales in general are basically in decline and there still a stigma about buying them and this was an article which condom makers durex had a big input in. Think with porn being so easily available to view the youngsters of today see it as the norm to not wear a condom.

Haha. That was my thought exactly. At least it was a proper game of roulette this time, rather than Russian. Though if you're just getting on colour then your odds and just below 50:50 vs. The 30-ish to one on a number. Maybe accounts for subgroups of people you might meet from? :D

Go to the GUM clinic tell them you're a swinger and come out with double the number of condoms for free.

Bareback is bareback (yours and her's choice no one elses) and the risk/results of it are the same swinging or vanilla non swinging. I'm sure you know that

Be careful either way as there's various reasons for girls goading for bareback, Up to you to suss and decide

Yep, tend to agree with this, of course everyone knows condoms are the safest way, but from our experience a very low percentage use them.

In my experience of catching STIs, I find them not too bad lol...

I've had chlamydia twice, warts and herpes... You just start to get a few symptoms and then get yourself off to the Docs to be cleared up... No harm done..

I appreciate there's a risk of dying from AIDS but we are in a western country that has pretty much got it under control, not like Africa..

I think a lot of peeps consider the risk of dying from a STI is a lot higher than what it is...

I'm sure I'm going to get a bashing but the forums are for opinions, and that's mine!

herpes can come along at any time, it's in your system... It just chooses to come out when you are feeling down... It can be caught by sexual contact if it's ripe! lol

You can go on a course of antibiotics over 12 months that will get rid!

So i'm told by the clap man

Herpes is a virus, antibiotics won't touch it, they act on bacteria. Anti viral drugs might help get rid of an attack a bit quicker, but nothing cures or prevents it completely.

The last time I was at the clinic, he gave me a course of 5 days of pills to sort it... I asked if I had to confront the wife and he said NO, it can happen!!!

He even advised that I should avoid sex even with a condom as it won't stop spreading the infection...

"if the herpes come back often, that is when the put you on the 12 month course"

"Genital herpes virus is passed from one person to another through sexual contact. This happens even if the person with the virus doesn't have symptoms or signs of infection.

Once the virus enters through the skin, it travels along nerve paths. It may become dormant (inactive) in the nerves and remain there indefinitely.

From time to time, the virus may become active. When that happens, the virus travels back along the nerve path to the surface of the skin, where additional virus is shed.

At this point the virus may cause an outbreak of symptoms. Or it may remain undetected.

In either case, the active virus is easily passed from one partner to another through sexual contact. Even wearing a condom may not protect the uninfected partner. The virus can be present on skin that remains uncovered.

The number of recurrences or outbreaks a person can have may vary."

Brake fluid will be as effective a 'cure' as antibiotics will be

You were given antiviral drugs not antibiotics, and quite frankly not telling your wife is irresponsible.

Of course youre still living, its not life threatening, unless you are immuno supressed, or a baby etc, then it can be.

It amazes me tha ignorance on here, even from people that have had it and had treatment.

Cold sores around the mouth are caused by the herpes simplex virus. It is quite common, and can be transmitted by kissing, unless of-course, one uses a condom

Zovirax Is an antiviral cream which can ease the symptoms but it is not a cure. Infact, there is no cure for herpes

These threads always make me laugh at the sanctimonious attitudes abounding on Fab about STIs.

How many of those who say they NEVER go bareback and won't consider anyone who does thinks of all the possible permutations? Group sex in particular tends to make the use of condoms almost pointless. Why?

How many of you use dental dams or condoms during oral? How many wear gloves for fingering? How many put condoms on toys? Even if you do how many change them EVERY time you take the relevant appendage out of one partner before putting it in another?

Unless you're doing all these things you're no safer than going bareback during group sex. Even if you do the likes of HPV and herpes can still be transmitted.

Not to mention that if you have a cold and pass it on then that's technically an STI but no one gets holier-than-thou about catching a cold at an orgy, do they? What's the real difference?

I talked to loads and loads of people off dating sites before coming here, and met a few people off POF, and it's a real mixed bag - some refuse to play with and some refuse to play without. I can remember talking to a young bisexual lawyer once - he said 'Oh yes I always use condoms with men, but never with girls.' Go figure. Perhaps that's why we never did meet.....

That's the thing though, they're not playing "roulette with their lives". There are no STIs that are life threatening if treated, may not get rid of them, but they're manageable.

Even those diagnosed with HIV can still live for decades. This may explain why those that play bareback do what they do.

Because those ladies were from vanilla life, they probably didn't have multiple partners, and probably didn't realise that you may have had multiple partners. Not that I'm defending, but in vanilla life perceived risk is much lower that in swinging life, because of the naive assumption that everybody is being faithful. And let's face it we all take calculated risks every day in all aspects of life.

I do sometimes find swingers quite judgemental on the subject of bareback, to the point of it being dirty word. Of course nobody is foolish enough to fuck random people at a party without protection. However if someone has a regular partner on the scene, and a health and safety risk assessment has been done, then it's not for anybody else to judge. We all take risks every day in every aspect of life that nobody judges us on.

Quite agree. A lot of swingers don't realise that chlamydia can be passed on by fingers. Obviously not a worry for those who only do private meets. But what about those who enjoy group sex and orgies? One could catch chlamydia from just having three women playing, no penetration. Nobody wears condoms on their hands do they?

When I had my first sexual health screen since becoming a swinger, they seemed really shocked when I told them. It was as though they had never dealt with swingers before, which I find hard to believe. But maybe others don't tell them their lifestyle. These chats always follow the same template. Single guy posts, saying how loads of women offer it to him on a plate but he has to heroically turn them down as they all insist on bareback!

Couples retort with how they respect decisions of others and to do whats right for you. A few joke about roulette.

Other single guys think it will up their chances of a meet by proclaiming they would never go bareback "their health is worth far to much to them" or something similar.

Couples chuckle at the above posts as they see it all the time, but probably have had over a 100 messages from guys offering bareback despite profile saying safe sex and their posts in the forums.

And then finally couples like us come along who enjoy bareback, but will play however the right people want to, a couple who will now go on to receive PM from the single guys in the forum saying how special we are and that they will break their no bareback rule especially for us, if we would just consider meeting them!!

All in all a well templated forum thread xxx

Most of my sexual life, I've been in a traditional, steady relationship. Not always with the same person, but, one for 6 years, one for 10. A couple of girl friends for 8 / 12 months or so.

Outside of the first, few, thrilling times, and after the birth control chat, it's always been bareback.

The few, one night stands, in my early 20's, some were protected, a couple were not. The stupidity of youth and the heat of passion.

So I've never been very promiscuous, and the people I've had sex with, I knew, well enough to make a judgement on knowledge and instinct.

So, most of the sex I've ever had has been bareback.

But, I do agree. No glove, no love

"Personal choice but stds so are one thing. Maybe they want ur babies."

The majority of women I've had a relationship with very quickly got tound to saying they wanted a baby. Most hated condoms and those on the pill very soon talked about coming off it. I have so often heard them say "Go for it" or "Fill me up" or words to that effect. I'm not surprised that single parent familes seem to be the majority down here in London.

I think the reason why so many folk go bareback is, despite the Russian roulette claims, there is no STI you can catch that is actually life threatening, if treated/caught early.

The barebackers who get regularly checked are perhaps in a better position than the condomers who rarely do. And yes, condoms with regular checkups is the best way to go but I honestly doubt most on this site fall into that category.

for me ive never done bareback other than with partners, always been too worried that what i could catch and ruin your life, especially if you gave it to your partner aswell. ive been asked dozens of times to bareback people, its just you ask yes im clean checked other week, but you dont know if lies, i had one women other week say lets meet, and fuck bareback, im clean and cum inside me. been watching her profile is likes being used as a cum dump who knows what she has or even if she did get checked.

its hard if single i probably wouldnt mind so much as simple trip to docs, but if with someone safe is best

Same with cold sores.

So, who would admit to having a cold sore? And now who would admit to herpes?

See, STIs are far more scary.

"In my experience of catching STIs, I find them not too bad lol...

I've had chlamydia twice, warts and herpes... You just start to get a few symptoms and then get yourself off to the Docs to be cleared up... No harm done..

I appreciate there's a risk of dying from AIDS......."

cold sores are viral - anything that contains aciclovir like zoviraz is good to treat the lip sores - i take l-lysin daily and ive hardly had any the last 12-18 months since it was recommended to me

"These threads always make me laugh at the sanctimonious attitudes abounding on Fab about STIs.

Hep C will kill you & is far worse than HIV in the fact they can't treat you, thankfully its not as common as most viruses.

There are some new super strength STD's which are treatable but take years rather than weeks to cure so it is a battlefield out there if you are clued up or never get tested.

Those who use condoms & never get checked are as high risk as barebackers that do have regular check ups, everyone should be checked if they are having regular sex with strangers condoms or not at least every 3 months.

I'm tested every 28 days & have been so for at least the last 14 yrs, i bareback with other monthly certed people for work purposes but have to always condom up when swinging as swingers are far riskier as hardly any get regular check ups.

It is inconvenient & some might get embarrassed to get regularly tested but if as people we want to have illicit sex with strangers we have to be reasonable about it.

I guess it needs to be in context...a lot of married ladies have only had one sex partner in that age group...so.. it's really a decision you have to make...I'm not supporting it or agree with it... I've had the offer too and won't without a condom.. but if it's what they are used to with their hubby..but don't get it often, hence needing more... you kind of have to expect that from them.... It's your choice... for me I always do the Heath & Safety approach...

That - topped with a bin bag for extra security - is my minimum requirement when playing with strangers. Strangely, I don't get many offers....

We're the opposite in that we shot bareback hardcore material with other certed pro adult workers & use condoms for swinging.

You as a person have a choice to decide what you do & how safe you are doing it.
