I've seen a lot of younger people on the scene since I started a few years ago. I was 25 when I first started and many considered that young.

and right... on to the question,

if people feel they are mature enough and emotionally aware enough to deal with it all then good for them....

do i think that a lot of people at that age are both emotionally and mature enough... not everyone... i think there are alot that aren't to deal with it all....

I would never have started swinging in my 20s. I only feel mature enough to cope with it now, and Im certainly still very inexperienced in relation to swinging.

I was very prim and proper in my younger days and would have fretted about having sex with lots of different partners.

Well neither of us had swung before we got together so this is all new to us. It's a learning curve and so far we've spoken to some great people. We have had 2 meets that didn't go to plan so fingers crossed it will be 3 rd time lucky next week xxx

It doesn't bother me the ages of people on site as I'm only interested in those my own age. Just wish the young whipper snappers would stop bothering me...but hey ho, all part of lifes rich tapestry!

First meet from a swingers site was not long after I turned 22 BUT had been meeting up with one or two ex's for sporadic NSA quick fixes for 12/18 months before that.

Feel that stood me in good stead emotionally for knowing how to handle the meets I've had off here.

Only 1-2-1 meets with males so far, though having my first MFF in the very near future

Interesting that people use phrases like 'only just confident now' ' couldn't have when I was younger'

I was 20 when I got invited to a swingers party I was abit nervous but the people around me made me feel relaxed I had a few meets with single ladies 20 24

i certainly wouldnt of wanted to swing when i was in my 20s .same reasons as people mentioned as above .i certainly would have to confidence to do it had it not been for my strong ,supportive ,loving and open minded hubby .it was a venture we wanted together to enhance what we have already together .

if the person (however young but legal )has the respect for others , is emotionally ready and mature enough go into this eyes wide open and see it for what it is then good luck to em . however SOME unfortunatly ARENT and see this as a meat market and quick ticket to a garenteed shag ,collecting knotches on their bed post. this is displayed is some of the behaviour and messages on here . i again stress this ISNT all younger member theres plenty across the ages ranges who display a huge lack of maturity just as there are plenty of younger members whod put older members to shame !fortunatly the throwing toys out the prams and juvenile behaviour shows em up and makes em easy to stay well clear of and block if required

Just a curious question, to those who have stated self confidence issues as barriers to swinging while young - were these caused by/related to body confidence issues?

My logic (at the moment, it may well change) is as I age, so will my body, and so I'll become LESS confident getting into bed with strangers. This coupled with there being a large chance of a future significant other not being into swinging means I want to explore all I can while I have the opportunity to ie, starting now, not later

I find the reverse is true.

I was far more self-concious in my early 20s than I am now in my late 40s.

With age comes self-confidence, along with a been there, done that, and I'll do whatever I can to please myself before I die kind of attitude.

Going to clubs and be in the company of others who are at ease with themselves, whatever their shapes or sizes, definitely helped enormously in boosting my self-confidence.

I often say I wish I had the body of my 20 year old self with the confidence I have now.

Back in my late teens/early 20's I was loosely termed a "stunner". Slim build, pert tits, long hair. But my self confidence was so low, after a string of boyfriends cheating on me. Yadda Yadda.

Now I've put weight on, have short hair, although the tits are still pert!! But my confidence is a lot better. I've learnt to love myself.

Would I have swung when I was younger? To all intents and purposes I was having recreational sex with strangers. So maybe I was. But I hadn't done any 3sums, or tried my bi side. So o me I wasn't really swinging, just being a slut!!

cant speak for others but im more at peace now with my figure than i ever was younger and i had had a child then lol !! ive got to the stage where i realise i aint gonna be everyones cup of tea even if i was a size 8 with pert boobs and not a 14 with boobs fighting a loosing battle with gravity ,along with the rest of my body lol !!!if people like me then great if not then i aint gonna loose a nites sleep over it they can just stroll on as will i !

thankfully there are people for everyone on here . so ive found im more at ease with myself as years have marched on (and over my body lol ! ) and that has translated in to self acceptence and being at peace with "me" . a guy actually commented that acceptence is sexier in a woman then anything and radiates from her . whom am i to argue with that !!!

as for the furture partner thing .id be more thinking how id be exsplaining to a long term partner that you had been swinger x amount of years ,unless you met through the scean . they may not be as open minded as youd hope and when exactly do you tell em ?? straight away to be upfrount or leave it awhile to see if the relationships going anywhere ???tricky !!! and no right way or wrong way !! again from my point i was glad i was with hubby and we were established together ourselves before we broached swinging .we had each other to talk things through with and for support as even going to a social first time can be alil daunting !!

Can empathise with what you've said, all bar the latest ex cheated on me, but he went off sex for the last 6 months we were together so all in all got to 21 with very little self confidence..

And I get what you're saying about swinging vs casual sex, as I said on another thread I really don't class myself as a swinger at the moment as I've only had meets with guys, but I am looking to change that, that was the reason I signed up after all

I agree with you! As a large lady I never thought I'd have the confidence to go to a club let alone get in the jacuzzi naked (I actually wore a swimsuit the first time....in less than 5 minutes it was off albeit by my female friend lol)

I toyed with the idea of covering up in the jacuzzi the first time I visited Chams, and was advised not to bothered as I would be the odd one out, so I didn't.

I had a strict upbringing as did my friends. Going out was not allowed, let alone going out with boys. Having sex outside marriage just wasn't done, and people with illegitimate children, divorcees were not welcome in my parents home. I was a virgin when I married at 20 so casual sex let alone this lifestyle just didn't factor! I didn't like my husband seeing me naked!

Now, 30 years later I don't recognise myself. I play with some amazing, fit, toned, handsome men. I rarely feel self conscious: hard to when confronted with a nervous bloke with a hard on! My body shows the signs of motherhood and bears testament that I've long since lost the fight with gravity but I only notice when I'm alone.

yep you're right although have seen some lovely, young, slim women wear bikini briefs. I don't care now....I just dive in haha
