In face to face interactions, this is not a problem when talking to a couple.

And I am more than happy to text the fem or male in a couple. I however, find it very difficult addressing them both via text.

Am I alone in this state?

I tend not to struggle addressing as both. It's important not to have anyone feeling left out. However, I hate it when I converse by message and it's not clear which half of the couple is messaging.

I would like to think I try my best but when I look at the chat history, the whole conversation looks a bit err.. ... contrived; as in a bit "fixed".

I mean with sentences like, " when are you BOTH ready to meet?", " I would like to meet BOTH of you", " when Robert comes back from work, may be allTHREE of us could go for a drink", at least you can see the son of man is trying his best. But the whole thing sounds artificial to me when I read it out aloud.

And then the awkwardness of having to ask who is texting because a fair few won't say.

It just comes naturally to me to address both if its a couple.

What you have said sounds okay, I don't understand why you feel it sounds difficult. As surely you are looking forward to meeting them etc x

I always address both in a communication to couples unless it has been made clear that I am typically talking to one person. Even then, I always try to word it so that I am aware of both. I always do the talking on here on our side but make it clear that my other half reads everything, and she does.

Ok, let me say what my "problem" is. I feel I would come across as trying too hard as opposed to flowing freely and being natural.
