I only respond to winks from people I have met in clubs or know on the forums, otherwise they sit there gathering dust, as do random friend requests

We tend to ignore winks but have been known to send one now and then

I prefer a message over a wink anyday.

Says ALOT more about the person messaging than a wink, often dished out like confetti by some and thus pointless.

I get the odd wink. If I like the look of the sender(s) I wink back.

Normally they send an icebreaker message.

Works for me.

I think they can be a good ice breaker. It show's the other person (s) you're interested. Sometimes you can send a message (including pics) and it just sits there unread forever. Not saying that winks always get noticed, but it saves time wasting a message.

"Who likes to send or receive winks I think it's a good way to break the ice "

It doesn't break the ice with me. I never look at my winks. In fact, I wish there was an option to turn winks off, including a bounce-back telling the winker that their wink won't be sent.

Winks are a good way of getting out attention of someone likes us. It's quick and saves time on both sides reading and composing messages. If someone's not interested for whatever other reason then a carefully crafted message is pointless.

I don't get any

Sometimes I will wink if I come across a profile and don't have the time to message properly or if I fall a little short of meeting their criteria by a 100%. Saves writing a long message for it to be deleted.

I do receive the odd wink and usually send a message back, which more often than not gets deleted anyway. I do then wonder why they winked in the first place?

We see absolutely no harm in winks. Think it's a great way to show a initial interest and then take it from there. On saying that we can also appreciate that the single ladies must get inundated with them and can become a problem

My new tablet has taken a liking to winking people, it's got a mind of its own.

In general, we don't tend to bother with them.

A lot of people view in stealth mode, so yes they would have viewed your profile. I've just viewed it, and unless I just told you you'd never know

Think they are a useful tool. But don't respond if we are unlikely to meet the winkers, as in, they haven't read our profile.
