why do people swing

not sure if other couples have the same problem but I enjoy the social side of swinging and if I like someone and it is mutual then we fuck. hubby on the other hand is a miserable bugger who rarely socializes and just enjoys seeing me get fucked. am I wrong to want to chat to people or is swinging just about sex

We don't mind chatting and getting a good feeling , but ultimately its about sex .

We have a life outside swinging for socialising and making friends .

I've truly lost count of the number of meets we have turned down because the couple want a social first . It isn't gonna happen !

For us it's more about sex, sex with people we find attractive both intellectually and physically, so we are fine with socials to figure out if there is any chemistry or not.

Ultimately I am looking for sex. I have friends to socialise with, go for meals, etc. However I prefer to fuck someone I get on with and can have a laugh with. Tried just fucking strangers and didn't have as good a time. This means I need a social first to check they're a good laugh. Prefer to meet in a club so that if I don't feel it I can go find someone else and the night is not wasted. I have however made some brilliant friends who I am very close to, so I suppose I vote for both!

I think its good to get to know other person but that must be difficult for a couple especially if you're only meeting one other

I wouldn't normally disagree with you guys , but perhaps you missed the fact that this is a couple ?

As a couple who swing together it's about what they want , not what just one of them want surely ?

I'm not at all interested in the social side of swinging as in we don't do a social meet first. However there is a guy here I'd like to meet socially although I have no idea if that will happen.

Normally I'm not a social person either as a swinger or in vanilla life.

I'm more the opposite way to the OP.

Rather than being in it for social...and then thinking about sex if physically attracted, force the main reason is to have sex...so there must be attraction. It has often developed into social/friendship/more etc.

My best friend of the past few years started as a "meet" from here...but the first meets were just for sex for the both of us.

A few have even become mutual family friends and friends of vanilla friends etc...

Suppose no "rules" . Just let things flow.... (Sorry if this rambled...4th glass of wine lol!)

Exactly. We live in a small town where we find it hard to find more open minded/like minded friends. So, we like the idea of "lifestyle friends". Not to say we haven't simply played at a club and not pursued anything further. That is fun too. But a couple to hang out with and then have a play date? Hooray! But then I am a very social girl and miss having fun friends. I guess it would be about a balance for the OP and hubby.
