They may well be genuine couple profiles with the man on at that time. Nothing wrong with that.

My personal preference in terms of watching cams, which I don't often do, is to see couples or females, but what turns me on will not turn everyone on.

Just going by the people who have commented on this thread about camming as a couple, it's far more likely to be the fem half on her own than the male. I agree that this isn't necessarily the case (having popped into chat in the past to see this for myself) but the 90% figure definitely isn't statistically accurate.
