Some of the attitudes here shock me! Especially in a supposedly broadminded environment.

The only person who can dictate their gender (which is nothing to do with genitalia BTW), is the individual themselves.

I was assigned a male, it was a mistake. I have reassigned my gender, and regardless of my genitals (which I have also had reconstructed to ease my gender dysphoria) I am a woman. If I still had a penis, I would still be a woman. Believe it or not, it is possible to be recognised legally as a woman, change your birth certificate and keep your penis. Shocker aint it!

Way I look at it I was born female and for me that gender is right .For others where their gender is opposed to the one biology gave them ,if they go through all the questioning ,coucilling ,living as their correct gender,taking medication and going through surgery ..then who am I to tell them they aren't who they are . They have had to fight to be their trueself where as I just take it for granted . In many instances it is a case of not fitting in to the "normal" categories. There is some hostility from certain of the gay fraternity towards TV/TS/CD which may be a reason some of us don't associate ourselves with the mainstream gay label. There is also a different mindset - I did once listen to those who said I was just hiding from being homosexual and I should just admit it. I tried that, went to a gay club in male attire someone hit on me we went out to a quiet corner but I felt it was wrong for me, was almost physically sick and had to get out of the place.

I know I can never actually become female but my sexuality can only ever be based on me adopting a female role with a man. It is just what is in my head. I've tried all the alternatives and this is the only one that works for me and as long as I am happy with it and the men who meet me are happy with it then am not really bothered what labels other people want to attach to it. Look, I don't make the rules of the universe.. I merely exist within it like others. Based on what I observe and have experienced ; divergence is much more commonplace that absolute conformity. heterosexual and homosexual are man made, linear , binary labals . they have nothing to do with sexuality , really.

Also, transexual people are not undergoing gender reassignment procedures to dupe men or be cliché visual sex objects, they are neurologically mismatched to their exterior physical gender.
