Keywords in a profile...

I have noticed that many of the ladies, and a few couples, have lengthy profiles.

I have found that at the bottom of such lengthy profiles, many of them put a keyword and say that you should write this keyword in the title to show that you have read their profile thoroughly.

At first I thought this was a good idea, and having read many profiles through to the end, I have included the keyword (if necessary) to indicate that I have read all of their profile, and here is a personal email.

I have also discovered a total lack of return from emails I have sent...not even a 'sorry no thanks.'

Whilst I understand that there are over 4000 guys on the site, it makes sense that many ladies get inundated with messages(too many to actually do anything practical with except delete).

Perhaps those who have spent time on their profiles to say exactly what they are after, and have included a keyword for applicants, should take a little time to reply to thoses who have bothered to read their profile and have not sent a cut and paste effort?

Of course I realise that as a single, and this might come across as a moan...I wont be reading this thread again.

I'm guilty of having a lengthy profile and maybe I should think about a key word, as about 70% of the messages I get are from men who haven't read further than the first word that says 'Woman'.

There is no rule to say one has to reply to unsolicited messages, full stop!

I dont have a keyword but i do have at the bottom that if someone doesnt fit what i am looking for, i wont reply, surely thats a better thing to have than a keyword?

Somebody can read a profile in full, insert the required "keyword" but still not be what the recipient wants or is looking for, so why 'expect' a reply just because you have done that?

Just because you've read a profile, it doesn't give you extra brownie points, it just means you can read. If the person you sent a message to is interested they will respond, if they don't, you're not their type. That's life.

yer right, if you reply with keyword to show you read the profile and you do not fit with what they are looking for then you will just look really daft.

However, even if you think you fit, they may not think so. It could be pics, it could be the way you come over on profile. In any case they don't reply they don't reply and no amount of complaining is ever gonna change that.

Forget it and carry on fishing.
