I don't dislike them at all; its just increasingly I am finding it awkward to reply to them appropriately.

Truth be told, none of the winks I responded to ever ended in a meet.

Is a wink not supposed to mean 'I like what I see, how about you'?

Well you've used the ask the audience lifeline,

You've still got your phone a friend or your 50/50...

Personally if I like the persons profile I send a message..

I never instigate conversations with winking.

Nothing wrong with a cheeky wink. If peeps don't like them there not worth bothing with. Just abit of fun. Is this not wot this site is all about?

I used to dislike winks. I thought they were lazy and if a man was interested he should just send a message.

After spending time in the forums I began to learn that men can sometimes feel nervous about messaging a woman.

One of my Fab friends was just such a guy. I messaged him first about something on the forum.

So now I think of them as guys sort of asking for permission to message. And if I like the look of them I wink back

Not a fan of..

The number of winks i get is ridiculous and whats more ridiculous is if i wink them back, nothing happens (mostly)

Give me a thought out message over a wink anytime.

I don't respond to them as the majority of them are from guys who have ignored my profile text. The first part of it explains why what they are about to do will get no response but they go ahead and waste their time anyway

Yep, it's the " nothing happens bit" that I am afflicted with. I like winks. After all, who doesn't like to be noticed or wanted?.

But after I wink back nothing happens.

A wink I find is often an ice breaker, quite often if you send a message it gets deleted which is a poor show as youve spent the time composing a message, even a polite no thanks is better than just deleted. A wink lets the other person know that you're interested.

As was said earier it gives the go ahead to write a message.

I am sure I am not the only one that would rather send a wink to see if he other person is interested first rather than have a long (sometmes time consuming ) message just deleted.

We get so many winks that generally we ignore them. If someone wants to contact us then we need a message.

We also get friends invites out of the blue from people we've never heard of, that's an instant delete!

I don't do winks, if the person is interested in meeting then they should send a polite message stating what it is that attracts them to you... I see it as laziness because the person can't think of anything original to say!

If we get a wink we have a look at their profile and if we are interested we wink back, which usually results in a message being received. If we wink and get a wink back then we send a message...all of our meets have started with a wink

I just say "Thanks for the wink"

Be polite, you never know may lead to a future meet.

Manners cost nothing, sadly very few on here have any
