Though I hate beards that are just silly strips round the chin

I think the term for this trend is "hipster". Beard, silly haircut, skinny jeans...

Some right sights around amongst those who follow this fashion abomination. They even have their own shop, the "Hip Store".

This hipster trend is the new mullet!

I'm beardy AS FUCK right now. Big bushy 'someone's stuck a badger on Ma coupon' mother fucker!! Not usually but need the fuzzy pus to keep me warm riding the bike - and aye it makes a huge difference when you ride open face!

Can't please all the people all the time. There's shit we don't like. Everyone's different. That's why life's cool. We don't bang on about it though.

'Mon the beardies!!

It depends on the person and the beard. You are not weird for not liking them - it's your choice, like preferring slim people to fat people, shaved pussies to hairy ones etc etc.

I think a lot of people are missing the point! From the look of the post from the OP it seems that beards are done to look attractive for other people.

I've been a beardsman now for almost a decade and I love my beard. I would never ever shave it off no matter what. The opinion of others is of little consequence. If I'm happy then I don't care who or who doesn't find me attractive. After all some people fancy me others don't.

The second you start dressing, shaving, behaving, or acting for someone else is the day you lose all self-respect.

Be happy and do things for you!

There's a bar here that attracts this sort. It's a decent bar but you could actually just sit there with your pint and burst out laughing every 18 seconds. Hipster beard central. And don't get me started on those that you can see are trying really, really hard to grow one hahah

I've had mine for about 3 years now, it's staying for good, I don't care if it is fashionable or not, I don't like looking like a child!

to be honest most of these crazes just make people become uniformly boring...I've honestly seen guys looking like clones of each other..same clothes,haircut,beard..

it doesnt really end at the guys mind...almost every woman has some stupid big speccy pic up now...it was cute n funny for a while but its losing its effect rapidly.

I suppose I've just never been part of any fleeting crazes that have been popping up through the years..which makes me think I might be more unique than those who follow these crazes as a sign of their uniqueness...

Had it forever. Condition and brush daily so very soft.

Just wondering, if all the bearded people reading this thread just decided to judge the others all on physical things. Too fat, too thin, ugly.

It breaks my heart a little that people are so quick to judge people based on looks.

I think they look ridiculous but I have seen a few exceptions.

A designer beard can look good with the right face shape but most men I've seen with a huge beard makes them look like tramps.

Without stereotyping, just based on my own experience, it's usually twenty-something ladies and older rocker types that prefer the beard.

I tend to have well shaped stubble at the mo. I've tried the full beard look now and again but personally prefer my face without it being that long. If the beard was a deal clincher then I'd need a week's notice for a meet lol.

Plus if I have a meet that adores clean shaven I can whip ut off in 5 minutes, have our delightful indulgencies and the stubble is back in 2 days anyway. Anything to please the lady....

My ginger stubble was so coarse. I swear I could shape diamonds with it! A days growth was enough to bring rashes out on peoples faces and necks if I kissed them, let alone thighs!!

My beard is well maintained, and I use conditioner in it, which makes it very soft.

London

If a man keeps himself up, a beard can be a great addition to a masculine look. Not all beards are scraggly looking or rough. In fact a man serious about keeping his beard looking and feeling great, oils and trims it. This yields a heathy and soft beard.

But different strokes for different folks.

Personally, I really really dislike girls with blonde hair. However, I wouldn't create a forum thread for the express purpose of ranting angrily about it and insulting blondes. Because that would be really fucking rude. Just saying.

Forget the beards that's so 2014/15 what's the forum going to be like when the Moustache trend filters around the country???

Long derided as the preserve of John Waters and 1970s porn stars, the moustache – thanks to initiatives like Movember and a general backlash against the ubiquity of beards – is set to make a triumphant return in 2016. And the decision isn’t so much whether to wear one, but how to wear it........

I just asked an opinion . not trying to upset anyone . no different from asking about tastes in underwear ect . its an open discussion . and you were the only person trying to instigate a negative reaction

I like guys with facial hair,I like guys without, stubble can be a bit painful sometimes but doesn't bother me that much, sometime my hubby grows his facial hair, sometimes he doesn't, he looks gorgeous to me either way, each to their own, don't change yourself for anyone x

Hate the fact of going downstairs with a lady and getting a beard covered in all that sex slosh, hence I'm always clean shaven and smelling like a tarts parlour

I've got a big beard at the minute and haven't shaved it for a good few month. I normally have it trimmed down to stubble but have let it grow recently.

Mrs doesn't like it and it's getting shaved off in the next hour or so
