Instead of some inane "Hi Hun" chatup line, a single guy has actually invited us out to lunch!

Used to happen quite often on Fab, plus they used to bring flowers, lingerie etc. on dates. But alas all too rare, these days.

We always treat our meets like a nice date, we like to spoil our girls we meet with lovely dinners and fun socials amongst other things as well as just play dates.. it makes for a better ongoing experience for us.. i guess a bit of romance and chivalry doesnt go amiss x

Nor I. We do go out for meals and nice socials but always, always pay our way.

Have you ever bought a man a gift or paid for something for him? You sound like you think you are owed a present for letting him have sex with you. That reminds me of the couple who ask men to bring a bottle of fizzy, and they don't mean lemonade. Stupid men pander to those demands.

Easter just around the corner!

Someone bringing me a gift would make me feel a little uneasy on a first meet.

The OP reads like an advert.

I've had dinner with a few people but always pay my way. Except for one couple who insisted on paying for me, which was lovely of them. Not something I expect or ask for.

I think I'd feel a bit weird about someone giving me a gift though. One couple who came to our last party gave us chocolates, which was sweet of them. In that instance it's ok, but I'd feel weird about anything else

"I don't like getting gifts in return for sex. "

I don't mind, depending on the gift but no one has brought me one so far

Shame really, might have made up for the mediocre cum and go sex where I'm left thinking "Well, I'll finish myself off then shall I?" or in a couple of cases "Well, I'll start myself off shall I?"

Ah well, thankfully they aren't often

I always take a bottle of red, a bottle of white and a bunch of flowers to my meets.

Surely its just good manners if they are kind enough to invite you round to their house?

Its gone down very well so far.

I would find that really odd, I wouldn't expect that on a date (if I did dates), so definitely not on a meet!

Amazing that anyone would expect these things, or even think they are a positive thing. I would never want to be treated like that by a stranger .... its akin to paying for sex to me. Much prefer to be on equal terms with all involved.

taking something and havimg expected of you are two completly different things and for someone to take lingerie it would have to be discussed in advance for sizes.

Depends if it's just some swinging quick shag or a proper couple of days away fucking each other into a coma.

If the former, then forget gifts, but I'll buy a pizza and some rotgut red it unless you want to nip out for something afterwards,

If it's the latter, then I'll probably foot the bill, but if she wants to cough up half for dinner, or buy her own opera ticket, that's fine.

Couples; well I don't do couples anymore, but stuff it, if I do, they can buy me dinner...

Really?

I would also take the same round to a date or even a vanilla friend.

I thought it was just good manners or am I just getting old?

I'd bring you flowers and chocolates - I often bring gifts for meets - nothing fancy but I just think it's polite.

Maybe it is a generation thing (not saying you're old, just older than me ).

Someone I know went on dates from POF in his 50s and took flowers and perfume for the lady on every 1st date he had. When I used POF I thought I was doing well if the guy turned up on time and offered me a drink many didn't!

I'm 59 and I didn't expect gifts on dates when I was 20 anymore than I do now, why should I get gifts just because I'm a woman?
