We are very new to these forums and it would appear that there seems to be some cliques on here.

Someone posts an opinion or comment, and almost immediately gets a reply shooting them down in flames.

Then the cavalry spring into action jumping on the band wagon like a backup brigade.

All agreeing with each other, it’s rather amusing really.

Has anyone else noticed it???

It can appear like that at first but we don't think it really happens. If you post an opinion not everyone will agree with you,and would you really want them to?

Some on here will 'shoot you down in flames' just because they can

You may find someone will disagree with everything you say.this is just because their opinions are different.If you look hard enough you will see cliques(and Covens!)but by and large they're not really there and if they are they're not after you.

After a while you tend to see it less and less. maybe cos it's not really there.

Post what you want to post but don't expect all to agree.

Well as we said we are new to this and it just seems to us that its the same old faces every forum you look at.

We are not even the paranoid type so dont understand what gives us the impression we have.

But we will keep looking to see if what we think is going on and make somecounts and then post in a week or two our results LOL.

My honest opinion(s)...

I think it happens a lot less now than it use to.

Not everyone with a gun is shooting at fresh air.... some people just hold up targets with a massive red circle in the middle and ask to be shot at.

Of course friends will often agree and see things the same way... shared viewpoints - it's likely the reason they became friends

in the first place.

I often agree with other people... and still think they're a c*nt. I often disagree with people I like (or at least don't dislike)... how that looks to someone else just seeing me agreeing and disagreeing is partly up to them and how they want to see it.

When I first started posting regularly I thought this too.

Now I don't believe it at all. It's a bit like phantom traffic jams, after the event you wonder what caused them but no one broke down or had an accident and everyone's mystified who to blame.

Sometimes us regulars might moan a bit about posts we see over and over again, but there really isn't a clique as far as I can see.

There are also a few who love a good argument.

Just keep a sense of humour and learn to walk away from a thread if it annoys you I would say.

yep lol

i have noticed a few people on here just seem to cme on to pull other people down

and yes your always going to get cliques, people who have meet each other will always tend to reply to each others post and agree with each other, i think thats just human nature, i dont think anything bads ment buy it tho

When I first joined over a year ago, I spent time reading the forums before posting. From a newbie point of view I too thought it was very cliquey - and in fairness, it can still appear that way at times.

It's not though, there are just some people that if they're not acknowledged every minute they then post something inane to get attention and their friends come out to stroke them: harmless really and easily ignored.

Just post what you like, join in and enjoy the forums!

I think sometimes it is hard to remember that someone is not getting at oneself because they do not share an opinion. If it is something you are passionate about it can be hard to see others saying different.

I heard the phrase today "Challenge the view, not the person" and I think it is useful to remember that this is what most people are doing when they offer an alternative view.

Others may do well to remember that they should not get personal about others when posting alternative opinions.

Just my tuppence worth.

in my opinion there are def cliques on here and sometimes some threads get so bitchty is funny but i will take the advice of move on you dont have to read it and keep doing just that while forming my very own opinions of some ppl who post in forums!!

I dont look into who has posted to decide if i post or mothercare. Only if i want to add my pennies worth.

Come on, it's not like naming and shaming is it. All you'll be doing is saying which groups of people you think have formed a tight bond with eachother.

I have been here fecking ages and I couldn't name a full clique... I can usually tell who's pissed who off though.

I felt that it was cliquey when I first started but you soon realise its not like that at all.

A lot of regular posters have been here a long time and met at socials, so its like any new social situation you ease your way in slowly. Everyone will accept your opinions even if they dont agree as long as you are not offensive or rude or make it a personal . Its healthy debate and sometime people opinions are very strong.

There are times that posts might be pointlessly offensive and inflame a situation but you soon learn to tune them out.

I think it depends on the topic.. there are lots of people with very set ideas... but its there ideas..

You just have to be prepared that not everyone will agree with a point of view...

The only time anything on the forums annoys me is when I get a pm about a forum post but the person doesnt dare get on my case about it in open.

I dont think its that clicky in here.. Sometimes I agree with people, sometimes I dont. I am just very outspoken.

I find the suggestion that people agree with their mates irrespective of the actual content to be a very rude one.

It suggests that people don't think for themselves and are in fact mindless sheep.

Which is pretty insulting when you think about it.

There are 2 main cliques on here. those who agree with you and those who dont. I have found a few poster who dissagree with most things i post regardless of content. and a few who just post to stir things up but offer nothing of value to the thread. I am not new to the forums ive been here years. Make your point stick to it ad dont get drawn into slanging matches and stay within the rules. And keep posting it makes a change from the same old timewasters/fake threads

Treat people with respect, even when their opinions are very different to your own.

And NEVER, attack people via PMs.

ive noticed that a certain couple i shall not name , who used to cause quite a stir on here have not posted anything for a long time....it used to get very heated when they posted...

also i used to think that the forums were clicky etc...but at the end of the day , as long as u dont take postings personally or to heart there a load of fun and very informative..

Nail, hammer, head...but..as others have said (and been back up by their friends

)...it happens everywhere on all sorts of forums, from DIY to football...you will always get some who will back their friends..and/or never disagree with them....I dont think its deliberate though, and the people here are generally very nice..keep plugging away and you will become a part of it...

We know how you feel though..its frustrating to make a point only to have it totally ignored and the same point made by one of the regs...which gets a response..

It happens...but dont worry.

If you think this is bad you shuld try the chatrooms for being ignored while the in crowd steamroller their conversation through..

If this is true wouldn't that mean that the people who agree with you are 'your clique'?

and what about the third clique. the one comprised of people who neither disagree or agree with you and don't have an opinion on your posts and therefore don't comment on it.

This 'hidden' clique is by far the biggest of the cliques

which is paradoxical because it doesn't really exist

neither do the other two cliques

hmmm, well where ever you get a group of people together you will always see cliques forming and sub cliques within these, its human nature..we are after all tribal..and then there's the 'mischief makers' who sit on both sides of the fence as well as the fence just for the hell of it and because they can..

as for the chat rooms well from my time here and from what I've experienced I prefer to use the ones on a different site where you can create your own room and rules..i probably think this way because I'm a single guy playing and we all know the views of the masses here to this 'clique!'

thats bound to have rattled some cages!

'phantom traffic jams' simples...keep your distance..keep within the speed limit and you won't find your self in one..some hope!
