Why do guys put on their profiles that they want to meet older women or mature women, it's such a turn off. I get emails from 30 yr old guys saying they want to meet older women like me. I'm only 38 and feel young at heart!!

I think it's the experience thing! younger men like to be contolled a little i think! and a woman alot older than them can offer that experience! personaly i never really like women younger than me! purely because i find women older than me extremely attractive in mind and body.

I have read all the comments in here and must stress for fear of arrows coming my way, that in the first instance I have no issue with single guys! That out of the way I do take exception to young guys (below my age preference) contacting me and asking for me to teach "teach them a thing or two" or by referring to me as a MILF which I find derogotary! The term strkes me as one young boys would use to snigger over their friend's mom.

I do have an age and colour preference on my profile and if I am contacted by someone outside that spec, I politely ask them to read my profile.

I also have to agree with the post about meeting someone young enough to be your son though, age 11 just doesn't float my boat!

Dont look into the word 'older' too much. I prefer 'older' women, meaning older than me up to maybe early 40's. Im 31. However younger than me with a mature mindset is ok also. Prefering older does not mean 'old'.

Ive had messages with the same and seen profiles with wanting to meet older mature etc, when they are 39 and i am 50, does make me laugh, i see myself as mature but wouldnt necessarily next to a 39 year old though i supposed 11 yrs is a lot. The thing is though, what age do they deem older women or mature? And to be honest, if they dont know how to shag at 39 theres not much hope for them really is there

Off to find my knitting and book a hairdressers appointment for a blue rinse

Couldn't agree with you more!

My kids are 19, 23 and 28. It would feel so wrong for me to play with men around those ages: it's not just about sex, it's about having something in common also for me.

Of course I understand some people don't care - a hot willing body is all that's required and age etc is not important. As I also socialise with my meets, it would be embarrassing if my meet was asked for his ID before getting me a drink!

The adjectives 'older' and 'mature', are what seem to grate. I think a lot of younger guys haven't the confidence to approach a woman of similar age. The rejection may be too painful.

Would the phrase

'Wishing to meet a woman with experience to share'

go down better

Yes, it would.

People are entitled to have their preferences for younger/older/whatever, that's entirely up to them. But like Midnight Blue, I find it a complete turn-off to be described as attractive because I'm 'older'. Whether we like it or not, we live in a culture where youth is prized, so to start a conversation based around me being 'older' is a bad move, and it never ends in sex.

I consider them to be just that; a preference not a rule in the sense that someone outside of my own preferences might well be someone who could have a profound effect on me.

Although young in physical years, i dont consider myself a "youngster" because of the experiences that have shaped me.

Your comment about a preference not being a rule, to me my own age group is a preference as is others and i would never consider your age (especially as you are the same age as my daughter)at all no matter the "profound effect"
