New year and all that, I find myself thinking about the friendships I have struck up on fab. Not all of them have involved actually meeting up.

One of the things I find a little sad is that one or two of the really important friendships I have developed with people on here have been with individuals who have now left the site and I no longer have contact with them.

Do others among you find that you miss certain individuals that you only really knew while they were part of the 'fab community'?

I don't as I am quite clinical anyway. I am not here to forge friendships other than a social drink.

A few years ago, I started to cut negativity out of my life and it worked a treat.

That's fair enough...however, personally, I do not see missing folk who I struck up a friendship with on here (mostly by accident rather than design) as negative

How can you have a "really important friendship" with someone you have no contact with outside fab.

If I had someone I concided a true friend and was leaving the site I'd make sure the friendship would continue.

I have lots of people on fab I talk to but a "really important friendship" would involve more than just chatting to someone on site

I agree...perhaps badly worded...just mean individuals who I enjoyed chatting to about all kinds of stuff and on a regular basis...

There are people I like on fab, in the forums especially. If I like them as people, I ask them for a social when I am in their area, generally speaking, and the same goes for them asking me.

I like the internet, but "friends" for me are people I have met in real terms.

There are people who have left, and I still talk to them off the site. I hope to meet them when I am in their area. If we didn't talk enough for even this, then I'm not sure how much of a friendship we could have forged while they were here.

We use this site to keep in touch with people we have met on the scene. Sadly two have dropped off the site and with hindsight we should have kept in contact via alternate means.

Shame really but that's the way it is.

Whilst I have met some fantastic people over the years, and we have found we've a lot in common but the glue that holds that friendship together is the swinging scene.

I keep my home life separate to my secret life and if people drop out of the swinging scene I wouldn't ser them again. I don't miss them as such but I do have fond memories of them

I have a few friends that have left And we were more than just friends on here but over time as they have left the lifestyle behind the friendship was left too x

The Garden of Eden in Beautiful North Wales

I've made a special friend on Fg's, we chat daily. First thing in the morning we wish eachother good morning and hope we have a good day, last thing at night we bid eachother good night and sweet dreams until the next morning where it starts all over again.

We meet, we have eachothers fone numbers and address' but live 100 miles apart.

She's (tgirl) my friend, my lover and the reason my lungs breathe and my heart beats.

I only really use fab to keep in touch with people I've already met , been on holiday , meals out and just for drinks and all mainly vanilla met some truly good friends, even going to Amsterdam soon

There's a small number of people I've formed a good 'friendship' (if that's the right word?) with on here and yet to meet.

But I'd definitely like to meet them given the opportunity.

It's a by product I didn't expect when signing up but I really value the contact and exchanges I have with them. Some have UNLOSed and lost contact, others have UNLOSed and we still have contact - if you really value their friendship (and them, yours!) then hopefully you'll get chance to exchange alternative contact details before they leave the site!

I'm in both camps....there are "fab friends" as in people I speak to on here, a few have actually met but I see them as on line friends mostly.

I have, however, made friends beyond that level (only with people I have met) some of which have left the site...but I still have contact with them as they fall into other categories.

We text, we call, we still meet even if that is now just socially.

My work takes me all over the west mids and beyond. If I am at a loose end I have a few people I can call in on for a brew etc.

I have a few local friends who are truly that. Even though off the site now we socialise occasionally. One I have even spent (lost count) weekends away in her caravan and have met each other's families.

There are all sorts of levels of friendship....each to there own...but a real friendship would go beyond their membership of fab.

Someone I class as a friend I know and socialise with. If I don't then they aren't a friend, just someone I know.

If I want to be friends with someone then I make sure I have their number & interact with them off Fabs regardless.

I may miss for a while a persons posting style if they were different in the forums but aside of that I can't say I miss anyone.
