How do people respond to profile that has been live for months sometimes years without no verification whatsoever. Should that send timewasters alarm bells ringing. Pls share your opinions.

If they have a very short friends list, no pictures and only a line or two of text then they are unlikely to respond I would say. Doesn't really make them time-wasters though, they might just use the forums or chat.

Verifications don't mean didly squat to me in all fairness. Why would I take the words of people I don't know that x is so and so?!! It doesn't make sense to me.

I make a decision on the way a person approaches me, whether the conversation flows and they are on the same wavelength as I am.

I prefer to meet socially fairly early on, as I don't have time to waste on endless e-mails, only for us to meet and there's no chemistry there.

If I have difficulty arranging a social meet, then all communications stops. We all have busy lives outside of swinging, but if you can't find half hour for a coffee in central London after I've offered a month of my available dates, then it's not going to happen.

I suppose it's an issue for those that play on the first meet, or are prepared to travel vast distances in the hope of a shag where verifications are important, to show the person shows up I guess. For me, the social meets are always during my lunch hour or after work - 15 minutes before my train so should they not turn up, I've lost nothing.

To date - 100% of my meets have turned up - many of those weren't verified!

That makes sanse, but I am talking about the ones who clearly states they are here to meet,swing and even list their requirements.Thats what I dont get

I understand u dont have to show ur verification, I dont show all mine but at least u see a tick to say they have been verified.I am on about the ones without ticks, clearly state they are here to wing, been on the site for months and in a lot of cases over a year. It makes u wonder albeit why i posted this question. Pls read my post properly.

Our opinion:

When we are searching we look for verified only as, obviously, it is a bit more reliable.

Sometimes we get messaged by peeps who are not verified then it's just a matter of seeing how we feel in the course of communication.

New peeps may not be verified yet and everybody is new at sometime.

Absoluteley agree with u on that. I approach verified profiles with a bit more positivity. My question was about those who have been on the scene for long , even as long as over a year in most cases. Very wierd.

I will say not necessarily but being on the scene for over a year, clearly stating u are here to swing and having no verification after all that time doesnt sit right in my opinion. And by no verification I dont mean hidden ones.

We would probably not bother with them but looking at their "last login" can give an indication if they are active on the site.

The first couple we were verified by we met and had lunch with, talked about a lot of stuff but never actually played with them. We were all new. They are now off the site so I guess it was not for them but we don't feel it was a waste of time as it was fun to meet them and gave us our first verification.

why does having no verifications make you a time waster?

but hidden verifications dont mean you have met anyone, you could just have one vefi for chatting on the phone then hide it to give the impression you have met

not that i go much for verifications as i have met guys before without any but to me hidden verifications hold as much weight as none at all

It depends on who you are looking for I suppose, in our case we wouldn't be wary, as lots of men don't have verifications.

In the advanced search you can search for people with "meet" verifications.

that is the point i was trying to make....

to some people verifications are the be all and end all.. and if you don't have that green tick then you'll be a no one...

there is an over-reliance on them at times, for some they see it a easy way of not having to do any "spade work" as such.... sorry, but some do!!!

some of the best meets i have had are with people who don't want to be varified... that is for there own reason

I wouldn't expect it to my point being just because we are not verified on here doesn't mean we are not genuine people who do actually meet others.

People don't have to display 'proof' of having meets. Perhaps it may be used as a device for some...to deter people who need others to make up their minds for them.

I think the main point is not wanting a meet and unable to get a meet, I think for single men and even couple looking only for single females being on here a long time and having no meets is accetable as its harder for both of them, does not mean they wouldn't meet if they found the right person

Only those that are verified will have "Verified Genuine Profile" display in their profiles.

If you can see those words, yet there are no verification(s) displayed underneath, it means they are hidden.

What's more important to us is they way we are approached by a single male. We would meet an unverified guy if he is relatively new. We do draw caution when the profile is ageing a bit without the green tick as it does make us think we maybe looking at a timewaster.

As for being approached or approaching a couple, they MUST be photo-verified as this indicates that the female knows she has a profile on Fab and not just the male using photo's from their private collection to pose as a couple. We have almost been duped into meeting a married chap recently, his missus clearly hasn't a clue her pics are on here for all to see. Every time we tried to set up a meet we got a message from him saying that she wasn't well/looking after kids/stuck in traffic etc... but, surprise surprise he could come along on his own.... We never bothered!!!
