Maybe so but not the reason I would cite. It's more to do with the joy of sharing my partner with other men who appreciate her the joy of sharing.

For us it's not dissimilar nor do we think our views are anything other than "the norm", if there ever was one. If you're interested in this topic then a book called 'Sex At Dawn' covers the topic in a supposedly scientific piece of research. Women apparently are programmed to have sex with multiple men in prehistoric times so each man would socially look after any offspring (no one knowing for sure who the father was). Men have a sperm competition thing going on which turns them on seeing their partner having sex with another guy.

Perhaps, to us, that's why the whole swinging and MFM seemed so natural.

Jared Diamond wrote a book called "Why sex is fun". It suggest there are two mating strategies, and species may switch from one strategy to the other. It is quite possible for humans to be in a transition, which would makes cucks quite logical.

Probably not, the science is different for men and women. Geberally speaking, women are more threatened if their man has an emotional attachement to another woman, physical less so. Hence polygamy is far more widespread than polyandry.

I read an article, but I'm not sure how the science holds up.

Apparently females used to mate with a lot of males in prehistoric times with the theory being the best quality sperm would impregnate her.
