I have a habit of just winking people tbh, but tend to just browse winks everynow and again - rarely act on them, but don't dislike them... long live winks! x

i use winks some people think that if you wink them then you are being lazy and assume that you havnt read their profile ,this isnt true though as i only wink people that i genuinely would like to meet i dont just wink willy nilly hoping for a response ,and i always read profiles x

If people don't like winks then don't wink at them, you find that those that don't like them will probably say so on their profile anyway

dont like winks, if you have something to say to us say it, there are probably thousands of people on here who appeal to us, but wouldnt wink them all, but we do tend to get far too many winks from single guys who if they took the time to write a message would get on much better with us than a lazy wink

Winks are probably fine for couples, but I would suggest that single guys (looking to meet ladies/couples) should avoid winks. Let's face it, those members who are looking for single guys probably already have 20+ emails in their inbox - a wink really is just not gonna stand out in the crowd.

I concur, and this is the reason why I don't send winks as an initial point of contact.

Personally I don't think it's bad if people don't reply to a wink. Sending a "no thanks" reply via PM involves more effort than was put into sending the initial wink, so I can understand why people don't bother.

This may be because I don't send winks to people, so it doesn't affect me in any way.

I do like to receive winks. Feel free to send 'em my way, folks.

As far as I am concerned this is exactly what winks ar for. Wink someone and if they like the look of yr profile then hopefully get a wink or a message back and take it from there. I always thank people for their wink or message even if not interested.

if I spot a profile I like the look of but I think there is a small likelihood of ever meeting - usually due to distance - I'll send a wink as a token of my appreciation.

It seems more rude to waste their time with a message than it does to send a wink.

if they wink back I'll send a message, but I never expect much

Winks is the way forward

A wink is a simple way to show interest instead of writing unwanted messages that are deleted without reply . A wink back would then mean a message can be sent .For those who think this is lazy must understand this is a feature 'fab' offers and it should be used .

Each to their own way .

I tend to wink friends and playmates lol its funny as sometimes it will go on for days.. :D

Its a bit like the pokes on facebook..

although I tend to ignore most winks I get from people I dont know.. However from time to time I check a profile and it makes me curious so I will wink back..

And see if they are brave enough to message me

see that last paragraph set alarm bells ringing here...

Why "should" people understand winks...it may very well be an something that fab offers but not every persons uses every feature, and uses it the same way!!!

for example... do you go to EVERY Social on fab? do you go into EVERY chatroom and EVERY forum..... thought not!!!

Each to there own and then you attack people who don't look at it the same way as you.....

so thats the way you look at it..... here is the other opinion....

all that a wink tells me is that you managed to find the wink button.... nothing more than that.... minimum effort and that is lazy!!

so a person gets lets say 10 emails and 10 winks.... which are people more likely to look at? Which is more likely to stand out? the one who made an actual effort of a reply.... or the one who managed to press a button!

Hello, my names Invictus and I'm a I'm a serial winker...although I do check the profile first to see if they mention winks.

I like getting them as well, either from playmates or just people being friendly.

I don't just assume a wink means I'm going to get a shag though.......a blowjobs fine as well!

We respond to them if we like the people who sent them but we never use theme. We belong to the school of thought which consider them to be redundant. You are not going to meet via a wink so just send a message.

The winks...its easier and quicker than having to read and then reply to what is usually a load of rubbish from someone that is a 1000 miles away from what you're looking for

I sometimes try a wink, wait for a week or two to see if they wink back or look at my profile and then send a message... but no hard and fast rules really.

I did not mean to offend anyone or attack anyone .

So put your alarm bells on snooze lol

If you dont like the winks dont use them , simple.

I know it saves time writing messages and you should only wink at someone who you are genuinely interested in following up a message to and interested in meeting , afterall that is the reason why the majority of us are here .

It surely cannot be that difficult to work out .

So is this the actual rule or just your opinion?

Personally, I think you should only be able to message anyone once you've exchanged winks -- i.e. sent a wink to someone and got one back. (With obvious exceptions for people you've spoken to already).

It would solve the unwanted message problem overnight.

Can take some a while to find that button !

Obviously a message is better but I personally think the button is there and curiousity is to see what happens when you press it (not a lot usually) lol but is has been to known to lead to meeting.

If walking down the street or in a pub etc and someone winks what do ya do ??

Why its seen as offensive is the amount that some may receive... (fan club)

If a lady winked at me in real life and I liked her .. I'd probably go and talk to her.

If a bloke does it though .. she may ..

The button is there - depends what you do with it and when as to what happens

I don't mind them - it's an expression of interest to me.

If I like them, I'll wink back then see if they message me. Equally, I have occasionally sent a wink and if they've winked back I've gone on to message them.

I think everyone should wink everyone else at say 11.32pm on tuesdays and 5.44 am on sundays. Those who read their wink on the second thursday after the initial wink but not before the third sunday preceding the first sunday wink, should post about their winking. All those who read the post wink should assume theyre getting a blow job. Those who don't want a blow job should wait until the wednesday wild card wink where everyone will wink at the same time. This wednesday wild card wink comes after the first thursday wink and the third sunday wink but not before the forum reported winking.

Anyone found winking between these times will of course be executed publicly, as is the norm. But not on the monday after first wink sunday.

West

We take them as a compliment..and often wink back if we think WE may be what THEY are looking for...

If they are seasoned swingers who only do meets etc then we dont bother winking back as it may lead them into thinking theres something more on the 'menu'..and we wouldnt ever want to waste anyones time.

We rarely get them, but thats fine as we know we are a little different from the vast majority on here..its really nice when we do though in most cases as it helps make us feel 'accepted'...to a fashion.
