If you plan a meet with a female/couple and they contact you to cancel due to personal issues, should they offer another date when they are free or do you remind them at later date?

I'd respond and say I understand, life gets in the way sometimes and if they want to reschedule then they should give me a shout when they're free and leave it there.

I would say yes and ask what other day would be good, then you would see if they are still interested if they reply or not.

If it was obviously a very temporary and practical personal problem (car broke down, etc), then reminding in a few days would be OK. However, very many personal problems are more long-standing than this (e.g. illness, family issues, work issues), and all these things can mean that swinging has to take a back seat for an indefinite period of time. Under these circumstances, I would hope that my prospective meet would leave it to me to get in touch when ready, not push for a quick re-arrange.
