Years ago there used to be a program on tv called Bolderdash n Piffle, all about words in the dictionary. The C word was brought up on that program, it was apparently often used and favoured in ancient times over the term Vagina, as that was deemed a dirty word, funny that eh!

It's a fascinating word in the male world. It's all at the same time something very intimate you may whisper to your lover (if she likes it), the worst insult, and also a totem of being best mates.

only bestest mates can call each other cunts, and both be aware that what we are really saying is 'love you bro'.

If a simple word offends it baffles me as to why some one would be on a swinging site . The most sort after commodity on here is cunt ? It's a word plain and simples . I get offended by the words "equality for the sexes" ... Lets apply it everywhere and not just where its best shoved down our throats . Think i've distracted the thread now i'll stop acting a right cunt .

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Not many words in the English vocabulary offend, annoy me but this is one and in my opinion should be erased.

But it is amazing how we are becoming more and more accepting as a society of offensive words used.

Really don't like the "C" word.... See i can't even bring myself to type it, as if I did someone else has to read it.

It's not that baffling, surely? Different people like different things.

If it offends someone, it's the easiest thing in the world not to use the term around them. If it doesn't offend them, feel free to use it.

Life is so easy with a bit of consideration!

So I got my 15, 16 year olds to sing it - they hated it - I was identifying that it's just a word ... It's the connotation/intent that is important. Job done as a parent...

I love the way Shakespeare used it in Hamlet...

"A woman of country manner".

I worked on the docks in Manchester and Liverpool and this word was used with affection and opposition.

In

"I like you,you cunt".

Or

"Not there,you cunt !".

In an electricals shop in in Peterborough where I was trying to get a bargain, the attendant got fed up and asked me, "do you think I'm a cunt?". The question took me by surprise so I looked at him with a wry smile on my face and slowly shrugged as if to say, " how the fuck should I know?"

He flipped. He went red in the face. Redder than a cunt, in fact.
