Does anybody have any recommendations for hotels in Manchester for meets?

More importantly, are there any that you would recommend we avoid, for whatever reason?

Thanks

We have used the Radison Blue on Peter St and never had a problem also the Britania Piccadilly is ok aswell.

Stay away from the Place apt near Piccadilly station, they check nearly everyone going in.

Hope that helps

The marriot by the AmC cinema/convention center by deansgate it stood.

Big rooms great beds, easy to walk in and out of /no hassle with reception.

Raddison blue is also nice more modern but I bit more out of town, but right next to the MEN for events

Whatever you do stay away from Sachas hotel next to Oldham street. The place is just horrible.

The Place. Great apartment style hotel. Spacious loft style rooms, 1 minute walk from Piccadilly Station. It's a converted mill I think so has brick arch features in most - really nice for the price

The Mcdonnald is just behind Piccadilly station - thats nice too, but I did meet in the bar. The Atrium is a cheaper option apartment style, 10 minutes walk down Portland st - still nice though

I agree on the Gotham, a very special place, indeed.

You're spoilt for choice in and around the City. I'd avoid Sachas as mentioned. I've never stayed there but it's the local knocking shop. Also maybe the Campinallia (spellchecker) for the same reason.

Have you been inundated with lots of hotel offers, and if so, any decent ones?

Hahaha, I wish!

It's more that we've been to clubs a few times and now want to try something a bit more intimate. We live apart and both have small flats with thin walls and nosey neighbours

Try some hotel Apps and look on there to suit your budget. Head out of the centre and it's cheaper. Also look at apartments, lofts, etc. As they can often be cheaper, than some hotel rooms. Booking.com is a great one.

MacDonald Hotel, Motel One, & The Place I'd recommend.

I live in City Centre, and hooked up with visitors to Manchester @these hotels and never had any issues getting in at anytime of the day!

And they are OK hotels.

Avoid the Midland. Great staircase, horrid rooms.

Worksop (visiting)

All the mentioned Hotels are great but can be expensive for 1 night which can be even worse if some idiot timewaster(s) don't show. If location is not a problem try Greyhound Hotel on A580 on East Lancs. it's not the best hotel but it has a pub attached to it, a Pool and Sauna and is only £40 - £50 most times. Crucially, it doesn't get full up on Match days or Christmas Market times and you can cancel up until the exact day should the folk that you have been talking to and arranging with suddenly cancel.
