preference or racism

I certainly don't think preference is racism. Personally I prefer Caucasians but don't rule out other races.

However, I cannot think this is anything but racist: Whites only and only those who fuck whites.

To be honest I'm glad it rules me out.

Brighton - even Hove!

Skin colour isn't one of my criteria for selection. I'm happy to say.

Everyone is allowed a preference, however due to the political world we live in, for you to specify that you only wanted to meet white or Caucasian would be seen as racist unfortunately.

However I have seen a few black guys state their preference for black girls but we don't rise and shout 'To the Tower with that man/woman.

Get used to it.....you have no rights ......just bow to the powers that be and be a good little person

I think it is preference, its just some people are better at articulating their preferences.

You could have a similar debate about sexism for couples who only want to meet women....

There will be racists on here because they are in all walks of life, but generally, given the nature of the site, i just read them as preferences

It's preferences all day long. Only time it's called racism, are by those who have the hump by being turn away from something they can't have. It's not racist by having preferences by what goes into our own bodies. On a different note...I have a black work mate (male) who never had and by his own admission never would date a black woman. Does that make him racist? I believe not. It's just his preferred way to date. Who are we to judge who can date who??

If I did have a preference and it offended anyone, tough really, what I or you or anyone does in their private life is up to the individual. If someone doesn't agree with your choice because it offends them, are you really going to lose sleep over it? I see a fair few profiles saying BBC only and they get very upset when white guys contact them, funny though, no one thinks that's racist, it's only when you say you prefer white people that you get called racist. Don't lose any sleep over it, really not worth it.

Seems people have missed or didn't read the end of the post.

I'm not sure it's racist saying they won't meet people who have been with people that aren't Caucasian. However, it makes me question why and how wouldthey know. Why? Is it bbecause of the media hype about the increased risk of catching an sti? No idea, just seems a possible answer. How would they know? Not everyone displays their verification, also some leave.

They may be a racist iindividual but no guarantee they are, I just question why to the latter part of the post

If you differentiate on grounds of race alone then it is racism by definition.

However it is arguable that you are entitled to be such.

That said to automatically discount everyone before you even see them seems a little hasty and foolish, however people have a right to be racist if they so choose. But you cannot dress it up as anything different, you should just have the guts and be articulate enough to stand up for your _iews, appreciate that some will find them abhorrent and be prepared to change your mind if someone says something which is intelligent/articulate enough to change your opinions.

You are free to be racist, just as people are free to call you a massive cunt for being racist. It is a free world.

You just st can not be offended by it, but it is still discriminating only on grounds of race, therefore racist. You just gotta be prepared to justify yourself if challenged, or ignore the challenge.

We all could do with growing a pair and accepting criticism.

I agree, having preferences to who they want to have sex with is one thing but to then expect those to also only sleep with a certain colour is getting beyond just a preference.

You don't have to justify it, but you must be prepared for people to find your opinion reprehensible and challenge you, you don't have to reply or rise but as free as you are to racially discriminate, you are also free to be criticised by others.

If you won't have sex with a person of a different race to you because you hate the race it's racism. I've come across a few racists on here,I'd rather see it on a profile than learn about it after I've invested time in that person.

The principle is the same, if your method of discrimination between someone you will have is based on the race of them or their sexual partners then you are being racist.

However you are free to be so, as we are free to call you a cunt for being racist.

Preference = discrimination. Sometimes it is justifiable sometimes it is less justifiable. You gotta rise or fall based on the decisions you make.

We all have preferences, food we eat, clothing we wear, TV shows we like or dislike. There's nothing wrong with saying what you aren't or are looking for. Isn't that what this is all about??? We have white, black, Hispanic, gay, straight, bicurious, bisexual. I think this day in age people in general just dissect things way to thoroughly. Everything is so crazy with this world and it's very sad. We all have a heart beat and blood in our veins. I just think the world we live in is in a lot of trouble nowadays. Can't we all just get along!!!!

There are preferences for everyone on here.

Women that only want black men

Black men who only want white women

Black women who only want black men or only want white men

White men who only want black women

Couples who only want straight men but only want bi women

Couples who only want bi couples

The list goes on and on..

Luckily a person's sexual preferences cannot be construed as racist, sexist is or anything else

Just because for example I didn't find Asians attractive does it make me racist No it's a preference and everyone has a right to their preference. Sadly some do not word it very well but their lack vocabulary does not qualify as racist.

Without doubt every race on this planet has racist but I do feel the conversation of racism is far to easily jumped upon.

I think generally people jump on others and scream racism far too readily. As swingers we are all classed as morally bankrupt, perverts and without a shred of decency by some people and I thought the scene would be far more accepting of other people's choices but the more time I spend on the forums the more I realise how narrow minded some people really can be. I have seen men get slaughtered for playing behind their wives backs and women almost applauded for doing the same.

People digging at others because they choose to bareback ( not my kind of thing but that's up to them) but these same people with photos of oral play and not a condom in sight. For such a liberal minded bunch we seem only to be liberal when it comes to our choices.

Also I have seen some ladies profiles specifically looking for BBC but not Asian men, are they racist?

It is nothing more than personal preference. Just because you don't want to meet my wife because she is married to a bi guy don't make you homophobic, it means you have made a choice not to sleep with ladies who like bi men. Same thing nothing more

Same thing nothing more"

Actually that may be more to do with risk aversion.

I would doubt I would pose a higher risk than anyone else on the site in fact considerably less than most in reality I should think. Not that it has any relevance to this conversation.

The point still stands that people have preferences and some may be due race and others are just an attraction thing.

"If I did have a preference and it offended anyone, tough really, what I or you or anyone does in their private life is up to the individual. If someone doesn't agree with your choice because it offends them, are you really going to lose sleep over it? I see a fair few profiles saying BBC only and they get very upset when white guys contact them, funny though, no one thinks that's racist, it's only when you say you prefer white people that you get called racist. Don't lose any sleep over it, really not worth it."

If people are rude that's cool. Like attracts like.

Bottom line is anyone who puts a discriminatory remark on their profile is discriminating don't put it then you can relax, do and you are asking for criticism

"I wouldn't allow anyone to dictate who I had sex with or be prepared to justify my choices in partners. My body, my rules!!!"

This!!

It doesn't matter if the people discussed in the OP are racist or not.

It doesn't matter if they trawl through veri's checking sexual histories.

It doesn't matter that you can't possibly know a person's full sexual history from details on one website.

It is their choice who they do and don't fuck.

It is up to them how they make those choices.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. They don't have to discuss or justify their choices with anyone else.

However, I cannot think this is anything but racist: Whites only and only those who fuck whites.

To be honest I'm glad it rules me out.

"

Haven't come across that nasty twist at the end.

No problem with stating your preference.

But saying that you won't meet someone who has met someone you wouldn't previously is a bit weird.

It's either to do with perceived risk, e.g. straight women who won't meet bi Guys (leading to the hundreds of threads about men claiming to be straight).

Or is it that they worry about not measuring up, with all the posts about BBC, 'once you go black... ' etc.

I find that wierd

I have been turned down a few times because I'm not English I can honestly say that does not bother me at all

However if I though somebody had been turned down because they had met me that would bother me

I find it quite odd that people would turn down a potential meet because of their past meets

Very strange behaviour indeed

It is preference, how can it be racist if a certain type of individual doesn't float your boat.

Next we will have a sexist remark made by the women who are only seeking sex with other women.

Or heightist comment made by people who are out of the preferred height range of someone, really it is all down to personal choice.

I don't have a go at someone I fancy meeting with, just because they don't want to have sex with a blokes who dresses as a woman.

"There are preferences for everyone on here.

But would you then say you wouldn't have sex with anyone who had had sex with an Asian for example as that was what the opening post meant."

I've had men say that to me,and if I'd had sex with a black man. Shame he didn't mention it before we had sex

I don't think it's so much a racist, but more cultural thing - or in this case, a lack thereof.

To clarify that, what I mean is that, as a bisexual male, I've yet to find Asian males attractive, simply because so many of the ones I've met over the years (just in general, not swinging) have been these wannabe gangsta types doing the whole 'innit blud, innit?' thing which frankly just makes them sound fucking stupid, though having said that I don't find white guys who act that way remotely attractive either, so as I say, it's not so much a racial thing as a preference based on experience, if I came across an Asian guy who was handsome, intelligent and subtle, I might just feel differently.

Your quite right it's all about preference & choice..

But I think the way some members convey there preference with the printed word leads others to think they may be racist!!!!

We've all read profiles that are so rude to one group of ppl that you think do I really want to meet them even though I'm in there demographic .

Think SOME people Not all have gone seriously off track in this thread, The OP does not care if people only want to meet people of a certain race.. Think the only part she dislikes is the fact that when they try to dictate or question what others they want to meet as to who they have previously sexually met who are not white.

I would agree that those who only meet those who only meet a certain ethnicity would appear to do so for racist reasons. But i don't know their reasoning behind it so Wouldn't like to say for sure. Would be interested to hear if they had a non racist reason for it though.

the only part where they wrote "only those who fuck whites"

is just retarded talk about being dim witted and up their own arse.."

There was a couple on here who only dated whites and went through verifications and blocked anyone who'd met blacks. They followed the verification trail and blocked anyone and everyone who had met a black person.

One of the most ridiculous things I've read on here: how and when they had time to meet I'll never know.

There are often a lot of people who become instantly defensive at the mere mention of white only preferences being dubious (even though that's not what the thread was about) so I think people read the first line and sprang into "it's just a preference!" mode.

It is a bit silly

Stating your own personal preference is one thing, to say I'm not attracted to black/white/Asian people is fine, but to say I'm not meeting you because you met a black/white/Asian person is not a sexual preference it goes beyond that

No they don't. People not reading properly and jumping on their high horses and who get offended on behalf of others are the problem. I have yet to see anyone commenting on the Thread that the op was directed at ie white people who Will only meet white people who have only met white people. When they can provide a reason for that particular preference that isn't racist then I'll reconsider my stance.

"I certainly don't think preference is racism. Personally I prefer Caucasians but don't rule out other races.

However, I cannot think this is anything but racist: Whites only and only those who fuck whites.

To be honest I'm glad it rules me out.

"

I think its racist because it adds only those who fuck whites ... but I feel the same way about profiles which say they avoid anyone who plays with TVs ... its just rude to say it. We have avoided parties when we find out people who openly say they only play with whites go there. I wouldn't want to spoil their atmosphere by being there ....

I think its easy to say they should be stopped when the issue doesn't affect you. I think these things should be discussed ... have an opinion, justify it, without descending into insults ... its always a good thing on the forums, and certainly a way to get to know what people think ...

I guess I am guilty of that too; I should have read carefully before plunging in

To the OP's question; no, I am not concerned with who the people I meet, meet up with

Infact most people I meet, have a wider preference and choice than myself, which is just fine with me

And just for the record, my preference does not extend to socialising; I socialise with anyone who will socialise with me; my preference is limited to sex only

"Everyone is allowed a preference, however due to the political world we live in, for you to specify that you only wanted to meet white or Caucasian would be seen as racist unfortunately.

However I have seen a few black guys state their preference for black girls but we don't rise and shout 'To the Tower with that man/woman.

Get used to it.....you have no rights ......just bow to the powers that be and be a good little person

You do know non white people can be racist too, right?

Actually that may be more to do with risk aversion."

Could their preference not be the same as according to national statistics next to gay/bi sexual men (44%)

African men/women have the next highest HIV rate in the uk (34%)

Caribbean men/women are next on the list (with 3%, even though they are only 1% of the population)

Maybe this is their reason for not wanting to sleep with people who have slept with black people...

As you pointed out risk avoidence

Not saying this is the case but it's just the same as people not wanting to meet people who have met bi couples.

I agree totally but then in answer to the original question, you would have to message the black person they met and ask if he was born in DR Congo or Brixton for example and ask to see his HIV test results..

A little much to ask a random guy who you have never spoken to and are never going to meet because he is black and you don't meet black people.

Maybe just easier to pass on meeting the couple you were looking at meeting.

Now I have finished playing devils advocate on this one just because as soon as the subject of not sleeping with black people comes up its always the first thing out of the hat is they must be racist.

My personal opinion is that it is racism but it may in some cases just be risk management.

No chance for us though, if we trust the statistics .... black and bi, oh dear! But not sure where we fit in, statistically speaking. .... as the categories are indeed deceptive. Which is what I said, you would not go through someone's verifications to check that a guy they had met a year before was not from Africa but was actually from Brixton and ask to see his latest test results, it would be easier just to give the couple a miss.

Crikey if your that paranoid then best to just pack up having sex, what if you met somebody that had has sex with somebody from Africa but they wasn't from off here so not on their verifications list or even worse you met a white person who had been to Africa themselves and had a shag imagine that

I didn't say I agreed with it or thought it rational but it is exactly the same reason frequently given by people who will not meet couples with a bi male, so therefore cannot be ruled out as a reason for people's preference rather than automatically saying they are racist.

When people use the same excuse for not meeting with people that have met bi couples the forum don't suddenly start screaming homophobic to them do they but because a couple will not meet a couple that have met black people automatically they are racist. That was my point. Certainly not saying it's not that they are racist, just saying that is a possible reason for their preference.

Also just found 2015 figures for hiv in this country from the government's own statistics to cross check if anyone wishes to.

There are plenty of profiles on here where they don't want white guys and plenty that don't want black guys and probably in equal number, ones that don't want Asian guys.

I don't think that most of those people are racists.

I've communicated with lots of people on fab and only ever found one racist. After chatting to her for some time she went cold when she found out that I had sex with black and Asian women. She said she couldn't sleep with anyone who had done that.

Now, that is undeniably racist and it did take me by surprise. But, that was her preference. So, I just moved on.

While her point of _iew may have repulsed me, I believe that she has the right to think what she likes. In time, she could have her mind changed and re evaluated her prejudices. It is possible. Until then, I'll just steer clear and except that, as crazy as it seems, not everybody wants to have sex with me.

Very well said.

The supposedly liberal bunch that call themselves swingers tend to be an accurate reflection of the society that drove them to the "liberal" haven of swinging in the first place.

"I don't think it's so much a racist, but more cultural thing - or in this case, a lack thereof.

To clarify that, what I mean is that, as a bisexual male, I've yet to find Asian males attractive, simply because so many of the ones I've met over the years (just in general, not swinging) have been these wannabe gangsta types doing the whole 'innit blud, innit?' thing which frankly just makes them sound fucking stupid, though having said that I don't find white guys who act that way remotely attractive either, so as I say, it's not so much a racial thing as a preference based on experience, if I came across an Asian guy who was handsome, intelligent and subtle, I might just feel differently."

Funny how with that experience, you rule out ALL Asian men but only rule out a SECTION of white men with that same experience. Do you really need to actually come across an Asian man that is different for you to actually believe that such men exist?

Bollocks - people have just read what they wanted to read. I'm not sure why I even care, it's not my thread

Well here's a lady that always tries to assume the best in others and obviously very understanding of what difficulties others may suffer from. I did not assume everyone read it properly but it does not rule out that some may have problems reading it or indeed understanding the question."

Like it has been stated, there wasn't a question. One has been assumed by many, simply as the title suggests. I actually had hoped for a discussion on the latter part of my statement of opinions. Fortunately some posters have recognised this.

Perhaps it would have have been better had I composed a question.

So we should approach each post with caution in case the poster has something wrong with them?

Seems a good idea

"I certainly don't think preference is racism. Personally I prefer Caucasians but don't rule out other races.

However, I cannot think this is anything but racist: Whites only and only those who fuck whites.

To be honest I'm glad it rules me out.

"

Maybe they are not attracted to facial features of White people who play with non whites?? Lol

You are right and I do apologise, there was no need for the sarcasm.

As for posing a question, I think there were a mixture of those who really didn't understand the initial post, those like myself who were too lazy to read it properly at the start and some who automatically thought they needed to defend their lifestyle choices. I like the way you posed the statement and it certainly opened a debate of sorts.

Yes but when people do comment on the actual post all you lot who are policing the veracity of responses don't respond or neither does anyone for that matter.

If people want debate then respond to these and start a debate.

Stupidity is far more common than the vast array of genuine mooted difficulties therefore it is statistically sounder to assume people on here are just daft as opposed to bearing a genuine malaise.

It is also common that stupid people cry dyslexia to deflect criticism and in doing so make life even harder for the genuinely afflicted.

well I didn't read the op correctly, it was late and I was tired so if that makes me stupid then so be it.

Any reference to the colour of a person's skin is a racist remark they are people you can talk about a person's look but not generalise about skin pigment the ops question involved the statement "will only go with white people who go with white people" which is wrong on so many levels

There are so many comments on so many threads where the OP is not read 'properly' but often this can lead to a good debate anyway. Please let's not have another set of enforcers trying to make sure posts relate to the thread word for word. People comment on what makes sense to them and how they read it ... I think it all contributes to the debate. As long as its healthy, it all adds to it ...

I am in no way trying to be a thread "policer" or "enforcer", it wasn't even my thread. I just thought it interesting that so many people leapt into "it's not racist, it's my preference" mode without having read it. Quite a telling level of what seemed like defensiveness in a lot of cases, in my _iew.

I agree, but I think those of us who see what the op posted about also see the same people jumping to their own defence on these threads. These are the very same people who can't have a sane debate about racism, and all they are doing is showing themselves up. I must admit, when I see threads like this, I have my blinkers on because as a family we experience racism every day. My partner is so immune to it, he doesn't often speak out, but as a white woman, I speak out because people need to be called on it. For every message on here, consider the source .... you are right in one of your earlier posts, people show their true colours, if you pardon the pun.
