I know it's been discussed before but surely if we delete a message without replying can't it be taken as NO THANKS and doesn't need a barrage of abuse. We're not being rude We're getting 200 messages a day and would need a full time PA to answer them all. Can't fab do a no thanks button you can just tap

I don't see why people feel the need to abuse people if they have their message deleted, happens all the time to me but then ago I don't have a sensitive oversized ego.

its a frustrating place for guys couples and women try to just move on ,worse is yet to come xx

I get why people get frustrated but stick filters on and contact those that interest you.

Saves any rejection issues in your inbox. A no thanks button will yield the same results so would be useless

or set filters...its all easily achievable..

I mostly always send a thanks back if they aren't interested..I'd say people who actually care about their profile(such as myself, dont want facing bans etc by sending abusive messages), I'll be fucked if I'm restarting my profile by calling someone a few names for rejecting me lol

I don't have that problem anymore but used to get it on my old profile. Just report and ignore or you could always thank them for confirming your decision to not want to meet them as the correct one, that always goes down well

I really dislike it when people name people in their status and then write a negative forum post about them. It's about as close as you can get to naming and shaming without actually doing it.

I'm honestly not sure it's much better than sending you the mean pm. At least they kept their shit private.

I'm not one to moan about it. I just reply to who i want and ignore the rest. But the ones I ignore for almost a year still don't get the hint. So I can see why others feel the need to have a rant. Each to there own right!

I see many people these days are using their message filters correctly to stop those they don't want from being able to message them, thus preventing 200 odd messages in the first place and making things much more manageable to deal with.

Personally, I think the site should get rid of the function to see what a recipient has done with a message, it causes so much angst (either that or people just need to chill a little). I used to read all my messages, save the ones I was interested in replying to and do a bulk delete of my inbox but to the person I'd saved the message it would show as deleted. I did have abuse for deleting without reply but they didn't know I'd saved it to reply to at a later time but in doing so, it showed me they are not the types I wanted to meet therefore I had one less message to reply to!

To add I think messages you sent that aren't read should automatically be deleted within 24 hours this would also prevent so many issues unless of course you opt to save them.

Sadly I can see both sides of the coin but there is no need for anger, maybe publishing stats on everyone's profile may show who replies and who doesn't and also how many messages the user has waiting to be read that way us lads may decide against messaging someone as the chances of them replying or reading them is slim?

I don't often initiate messages with a _iew to meeting. I do sometimes say 'good photos' if someone has taken the time and effort to produce something pleasing to my eye, I don't look to see anyone's read them, I don't do 'follow up' messages. Any nasty messages just get deleted and the perp blocked.

It makes for an easier and happier fab

experience.

Whilst not condoning abusive messages, come on lads, roll with the punches eh? I do find this post a little strange. The OP deleted unread a message from someone, only to receive an abusive message, which they then opened.... erm.....?

Personally if I get a message from someone who I will not reply too, or even read the message of, then I would block them, that way everyone is appraised of the situation.... without offensive words.

... now here's a wacky idea, control the messages you see, by (here goes...) blocking ALL single men from messaging first, and then only messaging those single guys you have decided suit your requirements, I believe once you message someone any filters you may have put in place are void for that contact..

Maybe they deleted a whole load of messages unread when they had a silly amount to deal with and couldn't get through them then maybe the second message came in when they had a pretty empty inbox so had more time to open it?

I don't really see the point.

But then I don't get 200million messages a day, so it's not exactly a problem for me.

My response rate would be really really high. Doesn't change anything as my filters still stop people messaging

I send messages, I don't go into the sent box afterwards

I figure they'll all delete eventually but have over the years said on this forum it should be scrapped

As I say, and again I am not condoning abusive messages, quite frankly, anyone that sends an abusive message on this site, should be reported and banned after re_iew (let them make another profile, they may think twice on the content of their message next time, and remember those with verifications may think twice before sending that message).

However this site puts YOU in control, you can manage the messages you receive by filters. If I was on here as a couple that occasionally met with single guys, then I would initiate the contact with said guy after discussing it with my partner... no 2 million messages a day, no abusive messages, happy life?
