the north west tends to get the most chilly does it not OP particularly this time off year? could be worse though we could be living in scotland where we would really be freezing our nuts off..

We don't need to wash often as we have so much rain so we save water by standing naked outside ........ Southerners will believe that statement

"We don't need to wash often as we have so much rain so we save water by standing naked outside ........ Southerners will believe that statement "

maybe SOME of the southerners down in their part of the country just don't like the fact that it's cheaper and in some parts more relaxed up north eh?

I don't mind visiting down south per say after all it is just another part of the U.K., that being said however I wouldn't want to live in places like london etc..

maybe I would like to visit cornwall some day it seems beautiful if you ask me.. been all over the U.K. except for past london areas and Northern ireland.

Y'see, to us true northerners that's the south - hell, even Yorkshire is midlands to us. Let's be honest, nothing gets a Yorkshireman's flat cap in a twist more than someone from further north calling him a soft southerner, especially if you hint that you can't tell if they're Lancastrian or not... it gives me a warm fuzzy glow every time... or is that Sellafeild?

hehehe I took you're joke in good jest, if anything the north west is technically in the Middle off the U.K. so it is more or less the midlands off the U.K. in a sense..

however when it comes to england then yes it is north all the way, no need for one like myself to get annoyed over a bit of banter now is it ?

Manchester and Liverpool are hardly north or west! Cumbria is 100+ miles further north and so much further west!

Where is "Look Northwest" produced?

If you stopped 100 people on the street in Southampton and asked where the Northwest was, how many would use Manchester as a reference point?

Geographically you may be right, but culturally Manchester and Liverpool are the North West.

Borrow dale in Cumbria has had the highest rainfall levels year on year since records began.

Now there's three words I never imagined in one sentence - 'culture' 'manchester' and 'liverpool'!

We can't have a picnic Taff -it's dark and it's raining! Apparently the north west is the darkest, rainiest region in the UK!
