The subject box

I find the use of a subject box when messaging annoying, obviously this isn't a concept familiar to the females on here given all you do is reply all day

What do you put in it, do you just put a general platitude in it like hi or hey or do you begin with the first word of your overall message? It just seems an irritating irrelevance.

You put the secret code that means they have to read the message

Anything except ???????

Its my pet hate and I've had far too many messages with that,it comes across as completely demanding so I ignore it

I generally make it short and sweet,it's all you can do really

kinky land

I use it when sending messages but have had responses asking questions, the answer to which is the subject so I'm guessing it's overlooked

I always try and make the subject line funny yet intriguing. Anyone that's had a message off me will know what I mean lol

I think it does generally get overlooked.

Another good reason for scrapping it in my book is that it would mean an end to the "please put Mrs Boothroyd's Holiday Dancer in the title thread to show you've read my long, condescending and unintelligible rant" profiles

I don't get what the problem is? Do you send an email with a blank subject, do you write a letter without a Dear....?

I usually put the safe word that some women insist on us using to prove we've read their profile.

Other than that:

Me! Me! Pick me! sometimes works.

Hi there! is another

Good (insert time of day)! is another

If the profile is humourless then I try deadly serious:

The economy is dross, right?

I'd personally ignore that as I'd assume that it was a copy & pasted line OR that they hadn't even looked at my profile & just assumed that I have nice eyes.

I find a lot of people ignore what you write as the title to a message and go straight to the contents. As our messages are often a continuation of the header this sometimes leads to confusion.

hi, hey is fine. not a . though, it's really hard to click on those.

Make sure the first line of your actual message is good, that's what makes me open the message.

"I think it does generally get overlooked"

I have to admit to forgetting to look at the subjects.
