I need to book a hotel room for a meet in the Rotherham area.

Does anyone know if it can be done anywhere that you don't have to check out, thereby avoiding the embarrassment of doing so a few hours after checking in ?

The alternative is a lengthy drive Back to rotherham the following day.

Any hotel where you pay in advance. Just drop the key off when you're done.

Why would you be embarrassed about checking out early

Hotel staff are more than used to people coming and going all the time

You've paid for the room,if you leave early it doesn't matter

Lots of the chain hotels like premier inn and travelodge have an express checkout system where you just post your key in a box and go

Ibis is great. Not that there is a any embarrassment to be had.

Just pop your key in the quick check out box

Most hotels don't actually use keys now they have a swipe card entry system so no need to hand a key back in anyway.. I stay in hotels around the country every week on business and I must have dozens of the hotel cards in my car..

You haven't done anything illegal. I've walked into and out of hotels at all hours ,with men half my age. I check in with them if they are brave enough

Hi Felicity...Yes you are right they are still keys....I was just meaning that hotels don't really care if you hand them back in or not as they only cost them pennies and usually are advertising hotel too...

I've checked out early from a Holiday Inn "sick kids" was obvious excuse if needed - they only charged us £50 as before midnight

I used to feel a little embarrassed the first couple of times I checked out but they really don't bat an eyelid. I usually do it with a big cheesy grin now. And often get one back

we have used a number of hotels in the past and can tell you this.The staff in most of them have seen it ALl and would have you figured out in 30 seconds but they see it all the time and couldnt care less.

Premier Inn is pretty good and you can just drop the key into the express checkout box afterwards

Cannot see what the problem is .... you have paid for the room for 24 hours ... its your choice to check in/check out when ever you so choose..... Simples.

And you don't think that the Hotel Receptionist's dont all know what you are checking in for ??...

They see it day in ... day out.

I did this the other night. Too cold for dogging, booked a room for £24 on late rooms. Used for 2 hours and dropped keys in the box on way out. I only booked it as cheap, trip advisor not the good. But they were having renovations, it was really quite nice! I was well impressed.

There will be in the T&C's a check in time and a check out time. The total time will be about 15 odd hours depending on the set up.Ours is from 4pm to 10am for instance.

Premier Inn is usually available from 2.00pm to the following midday. The one nearest to Chams must be very used to people checking in, dropping their bags off and disappearing of to Chams then coming back around midnight!

No need to be embarrassed! Just drop your key off, thanks them for the room and leave with a big grin - they'll just be jealous they weren't up there with you!
