West Midlands

Hi all,

let me start by saying I'm not political in any way, neither am I an ist of any sort, i.e. race ist, size ist etc.

I had a very fun week planned next week, visit to my favourite club, some 1 on 1's etc...but the events in France, and threats in Europe, have meant I'm no longer free to meet......but who cares.

Swinging is great fun, a great high sexually, and hopefully a great laugh...but it becomes very secondary when such things are happening in the world.

I think it puts in perspective all those moans about bad meets, not being able to meet at all, etc etc...

I'm not saying lets not have fun..I'm just saying lets keep it's importance in the right place....

sorry for the non-swinging post.

Bad stuff happens but it is also true that bad stuff is soon forgotten or at least put further back in our minds and we continue as we were, moaning about the bus being late, fed up because there's nothing on the telly, complaining that we can't get a meet. To my mind that's a good thing we can't live our lives in a heightened state of awareness about the bad things that happen in the world that's one of the terrorists aims, it's right to go about things as normal, even the moaning or they win.

A very interesting way of looking at it..my point, I guess, was it's not the be all and end all.

I agree it isn't the be all and end all but I also think that when someone complains about a cancelled meet or something similar on here we only see a snapshot of their life, I'm not sure it's an all consuming pastime for most. Although I do spend WAY too much time in the forums

The first step in tackling a problem, is admitting you have a problem lol

So because shit happens , we should all be putting things we enjoy on the back burner ?

A worldwide ban on having fun .

Fuck that .....

Best way to show contempt to the evil scum intent on destroying us is to carry on regardless .

Anyone fancy a fuck ?

its one thing to be aware of the stuff going on around you - a different thing to let it/them rule your life - who is the winner then ???

OP, do you mean that you have job where you have had leave cancelled, or you have cancelled the trip because you are worried about the danger?

West Midlands

trips cancelled, not mine, due to concerns about major cities being visited.

I travel in and out of Central London everyday for work. Nothing has stopped me doing that...but near where I work could be considered a target, and that thought doesn't easily go away when you walk in at 7:30 in the morning and back out at 5:00

Redditch

My parents used to drink in Birmingham, including one that got blown up (Birmingham six etc.)

My brother was in London with his fiancee when a bomb went off Nearby. I was serving in the forces simce I was 19.

I've always been aware of the dangers, first from the I.R.A. Long before the current middle east situation.

So carpe diem, you may avoid the terrorism and still get run over by a bus.
